PGCBGC provides Prince George’s County youth with opportunities to participate in many activities sponsored and conducted by 33 clubs located throughout the county. Member clubs offer baseball, basketball, cheerleading, flag & tackle football, fall & spring soccer, softball and track for girls and boys ages 5-18. These activities are available to all Prince George’s County youth, regardless of ability and/or skill level. Participants receive instruction from coaches who are American Sports Education Program-qualified & have passed the National Center for Safety Initiatives Background check.

How Do I Join? To get involved, contact the membership chairperson of the club in your residential area. Activities are available for youth ages 5-18. You must sign up with a club before you can register for a team. Log on to http://www.pgcbgc.org for a list of membership chairpersons by residential area or call 301-446-6800, TTY 301-446-6802, to speak with staff who will provide you with the name and phone number for the membership chairperson of the club in your residential area. What Do I Need To Play on a Team? To play on a team, the child must have an official PGCBGC ID card. The following is required: current Prince George’s County address, birth certificate or official ID, current photo, paid club membership dues. What Programs Are Available? Throughout the year, there are many sport programs (see chart) and leagues available to youth who belong to the Prince George’s County Boys & Girls Club. Some clubs offer additional programs within the club. All coaches, assistant coaches and team parents are required to have a background check. All coaches are required to pass the American Sports Education Program course. When Do I Register? Most clubs use the registration dates shown. Leagues depend on the number of participants, so it is usually better to register early.
The SHWD Office coordinates competitive sports leagues for youth, adults & seniors. These programs are offered on a seasonal basis throughout the year; registration required. For more information & forms go to www.pgparks.com/ Things_To_Do/Sports/Leagues.htm.

Men’s, Women’s & Coed Leagues are available for spring and summer leagues. Players must be 16 years of age by May 1, 2013. Individual registration is not accepted but if you are interested in playing and are not part of a team, add your name to our list of “Players Looking for a Team”. n Mar. 21: Registration deadline for all Adult Spring Softball, Spring/Exhibition, Coed, Men’s & Women’s teams. Commitment forms & franchise fees due in the Sports Division Office. n Apr. 1: Spring/Exhibition Coed, Men’s & Women’s Leagues begin play. n Apr. 23: Registration deadline for all Adult Summer Softball teams.
