School & Group Tours at the Museum or Let Us Bring the Museum to You! The College Park Aviation Museum offers a variety of tours for groups—whether you are looking to book a school field trip or an outing for a Senior Center or a Youth Group. Our educational tours utilize our permanent exhibits as well as hands-on activities and interactives to excite participants about the history and science of flight. For school groups, tours are designed to address gradeappropriate Common Core and Maryland educational standards and can be modified to accommodate a wide range of learning abilities. Afternoon Aviators 1st Saturday of the month, 2 pm $5 includes museum admission and supplies Join us the first Saturday of every month as we explore a different aviation themed topic through STEAM-based, hands on activities. This is a drop-in program for children ages 6 & up.

Wright B Simulator Weekends 11–11:30 am, 1–1:30 pm and 3–3:30 pm What does it take to fly a Wright Model B Aeroplane? Museum Staff will guide you through takeoff and have you cruising in no time on our simulator.

Peter Pan 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month 10:30 am Come to the Peter Pan story time for pre-school fun! Ideal for little learners up to five years old, enjoy a flight-themed story and hands-on craft activity. To schedule a group larger than 10, please call the museum to make a private group reservation. Included with museum admission.

Brown Bag Lunches 2nd Wednesday of the Month, 12 noon, FREE Take a break from work and stimulate your mind. Bring your lunch and join us for a different topic and discussion each month. Lectures are presented by museum staff or invited guest speakers and last approximately 25 minutes. The Windsock Arms— Drinks, Activities & Trivia 3rd Wednesday of the month, 5:30–7:30 pm $10, includes food and drinks Try out a new specialty cocktail each month while chatting with our guest bartenders. Every month features a different theme and activity. Enjoy after-hours access to the exhibits, socialize with friends, and snack on appetizers provided by Geppetto Catering. This event is for ages 21 & over only.

Engineering 101 3rd Saturday of the month, 2–4 pm $5 includes museum admission & supplies What is an Engineer? Engineers are people who design and build things to solve specific problems. Learn the basics of engineering through an interactive, handson design challenge by creating your own design from drawing to prototype.

Discovery Cart Days 11 am–2 pm Our Discovery Carts feature a variety of aviation themes that address history, science and art. A museum educator will engage you with hands-on materials from the education collection that will help explore these themes through interactive questions, experiments, and activities! Included with museum admission. July 4: In honor of the July 4th holiday, join us for fireworks in a jar. Learn about fluid density while making your own dazzling display of art!

Flying Solo: Fiber Art Inspired by College Park Aviation Museum Through September 3 The exhibit “Flying Solo” reflects Misty Cole’s creative exploration of aircraft through the medium of fiber. Cole, an artist and educator, offers new perspectives on the details of planes through her fiber art. Her work delves into fuselage details, such as rivets and stitching, as well as material types, including metal, wood, and fabric. Misty’s visual approach to the objects in the College Park Aviation Museum’s artifact collection offer a fresh viewpoint for the public to experience the aesthetics of aviation, along with its history.
