SYNERGY CORPORATE HOUSING PHOTOGRAPHY | VIDEOGRAPHY | SOCIAL MEDIA

In November 2012, Synergy Corporate Housing unveiled a game-changing mobile application and website at a series of launch parties. Working as part of a dynamic and creative team, I was a key decision maker in the capabilities and designs of these new technologies. As a young and innovative company, Synergy needed a social media strategy which would put them above their competitors. I assisted in developing a plan geared towards gaining followers and attracting clients and guests across a series of social media platforms. The new website required visual content. In order to fully highlight the hundreds of fully-furnished executive housing solutions offered nationally and internationally by Synergy, I shot, edited and published photographic and videographic content of the most desirable locations in the Silicon Valley, San Diego and Los Angeles regions.

To address frequently asked questions and recurring challenges at a few Synergy properties, I was commissioned to develop a series of “How-to” videos for the company. Catering to international clients and ranging from where guests park their cars to how to operate the air conditioning system in their apartments, the videos offer step-by-step instructions in a concise and easy to understand format. As co-creator of Synergy’s social media strategy, I worked to develop and implement a plan which would create interest and communicate company news across a multitude of platforms. From strategically gaining Twitter followers to producing weekly content for the Wordpress blog, the social media strategy gained hundreds of followers in 60 days and is still rapidly growing. THE CIVIC INITIATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY | VIDEOGRAPHY | MEDIA

What do a group of Argentinean Fulbright Scholars, young leaders from Pakistan, and twenty-five Iraqi students have in common? These three groups all came to the University of Massachusetts Amherst in the summer of 2011 to study American public policy and learn the history of the United States. As the media coordinator for the sponsor program, The Civic Initiative, I captured the students’ experiences through photo, video, and blogs. Spending every waking moment with the program’s participants, I followed them from classrooms to the library, from their welcoming dinners in downtown Amherst to their closing dinners in New York City and Washington, DC. These brilliant young leaders spent a month in our country gaining formative insight. By capturing and sharing visual and sentimental reminders of their programs and experiences I became a key component in ensuring they would return to their homes with a positive view of the United States.

THE CIVIC INITIATIVE MEDIA

www.argentineanyoungleaders2011.wordpress.com www.iylep2011.wordpress.com www.pyl2011.wordpress.com To bring life to their experiences, and give the exchange students a voice in their time at the university, I introduced a personalized Wordpress blog to each program. The groups met weekly to contribute their own writings and photos to the blogs and were encouraged to initiate discussions and share stories throughout the duration of their program. An unprecedented concept, the blogs proved successful and still serve as a visual reminder of the students’ times in America.

THE CIVIC INITIATIVE VIDEOGRAPHY

https://vimeo.com/22790660 My first commissioned project for The Civic Initiative was to film and produce a reunion video for the Iraqi Young Leaders Program of the summer of 2010. The program director, Dr. Michael Hannahan, visited Iraq in May of 2011 and presented the video to the students at the Iraqi Embassy in front of high officials. Lauded for its sentimental value, this video was met with smiles and tears upon its presentation.

PERMACULTURE GARDEN VIDEOGRAPHY | MARKETING | MEDIA

In the winter of 2011, the Permaculture Garden Committee of The University of Massachusetts Amherst won first place among fifteen competitors in President Obama’s “Campus Champions of Change Challenge” after they transformed a plot of the university’s land into a highly productive self sustaining garden. The first public university in the United States to develop such a garden on its own land, the Franklin Permaculture Garden was lauded for its revolutionary impact on the campus. The Permaculture Garden initiative and its committee were born in a university course called “Sustainable Thinking.” The idea gained so much momentum and support from the university’s community that within six months the plot in front of the Franklin Dining Commons was being sheet mulched and the foundations of the garden were being laid. As the anticipation and excitement around the garden grew, so did its need for a bigger committee. In the spring of 2011, I joined as a marketing and media intern for the committee and developed promotional material through print, video and social media. PROJECT Permaculture Garden

I filmed and produced the multimedia documentary, “Student Led Sustainability which explored a variety of student initiatives centered around green thinking and sustainable practices at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. The story of the Franklin Permaculture Garden and its volunteers served as the backbone for this short film. MEDIA www.UMassPermaculture.com

Using a variety of social media platforms, I was responsible for gaining national support for the garden. By reaching out to radio stations, magazines, and national icons, I worked to drum up interest in the initiative.
