What? What is an UnFOLD home? The UnFOLD home is a new category of archtecture born out of the tiny home movement. Its unique design and limitless customization makes it the biggest and most convenient tiny home available. The unfolding design, our efficient transportation methods, and rapid on site set up make this a perfect fit for any home owner looking for a meaninful alternative to current housing options on the market.
The UnFOLD home is a lifestyle choice During transport, the home is cleverly folded into that of a standard sized 53’ semi, just like all of those huge tractor trailors you pass when driving down the highway. This standard shipping size allows the UnFOLD home to be delivered almost anywhere in the world over land or sea. Versatile by its unique unfolding design, this nomatic, expanding modular, modern home eliminates the feeling of a railroad apartment or bowling alley common with tiny
homes. By unfolding a central living room and upwardly expanding a second story it looks and behaves more like the living spaces we have expect and love. This act of transformation creates a feeling of a large space inside a small home. The UnFOLD home has a complete decked out kitchen, a full-sized bathroom, with traditional toilets, showers and sinks, an adjacent mechanical room sporting cuting HVAC and contols, a private office or guest room, an extra large glass enclosed living room with 13’ high cielings, and two second floor living spaces with plenty of standing room and closet space.

Who
is UnFOLD homes? CEO: Peter van Geldern Peter has over 35 years experience in architecrure and over 15 years in a sustainability focused design practice.
The story behind the UnFOLD home? Inspired by the tiny home movement and its pursute for downsizing to create a more simple and free life our team discovered there was still something missing. While tiny homes sparked a new lifesyle movement, it didn’t fully work for us because there seemed to be too many comprimises in the living standards we have grown to love. This conundrum lead us to start our own company and our efforts lead us to build a new not so tiny home and thus develope a new category of architecture. The UnFOLD home was born!

The UnFOLD home lifestyle choices Is the UnFOLD Home customizable? Yes, there are many models we are working on to best suit our diverse audience. There are some people who want energy independence and to be off the grid, some want luxury designed homes, and some want a rustic cabin feel. The UnFOLD home doesn’t have to just be used as a main residence. It was designed for a multifunctional space such as a home office, an in-law suite, a summer home, or for a child returning from college.
How long will it take to build? The estimated time will be 3-6 months depending on the customized level. Also as we progress with more orders the time frame will dramatically go down.
What are the base range prices of a new UnFOLD Home? The UnFOLD home runs in the range of $50,000 - $100,000 depending on the upgrades and options added.
