WELCOME TO

PEREGRINE From our humble first steps in the foothills of Nepal, we’ve expanded to over 80 countries across all seven continents. Over 40 years of operating, one thing has stayed constant – our desire for authentic adventure. Our passionate guides and leaders will give you the story behind the well-known highlights, then help you find the little moments that make your journey truly unforgettable. With our smaller group sizes you’ll be able to slip between alleys and experience local secrets the big groups just can’t reach, and eat and stay in more intimate and authentic locations. We’re a company built by travellers, for travellers, and it shows in every step. Take your next one with us.

ITINERARIES THAT INSPIRE Cruise to isolated islands and tiny ports, stroll markets in seaside villages, swim in hidden coves and get a real insight into local living. Our small ships allow you to sail the sea less travelled, and we’ve designed our itineraries so you can access the out-of-the-way spots that the big ships can’t.

SMALL GROUPS, PERSONAL CONNECTIONS With fewer than 50 passengers on every Adventure Cruise, our groups are the perfect size for mingling at happy hour and really getting to know your fellow travellers. Smaller groups means more personalised service, like one-on-one chats with your leader about history, culture and food, or your favourite ice-cold beer handed to you by the bar manager at the end of a day of exploring.

IMMERSIVE CULTURAL EXPERIENCES

THIS IS

ADVENTURE CRUISING Peregrine Adventure Cruising is a new travel experience for openminded, curious explorers seeking adventure at sea. Along with a small group of travellers, join your Peregrine local leader, captain and experienced crew to cruise the glittering waters of Croatia, walk along the crater of a dormant volcano in Indonesia, or alight to discover the conical roofs of Alberobello’s iconic dwellings. While you’ll enjoy the same level of inclusions as a regular Peregrine adventure – like winery tours and guided walks – you’ll also have time to relax and do things at your own pace. Think of it as a classic Peregrine journey – but at sea!

Enjoy expertly curated onshore experiences every single day during your trip, all with a focus on the local and authentic. With passionate and knowledgeable local leaders joining every voyage, you’ll see well-known sites from a new perspective and discover hidden spots you’ve never heard of – but won’t forget.

SPECIALISED SERVICE We’re right there with you to ensure your adventure is memorable for all the right reasons. Our expert local leaders facilitate incredible land experiences, while the ship’s friendly crew make sure you have everything you need – from a room that’s sparkling clean to a glass of sparkling wine – to enjoy your time on board.

A BOUTIQUE HOTEL ON THE WATER Our vessels combine all the comfort and services of a boutique hotel with the freedom of the open water. Rest easy in your well-appointed cabin and wake to a different scene outside your window each morning. Enjoy panoramic views from the sun deck, spend time in comfortable lounges and spacious dining rooms, or dine al fresco underneath a sea of stars.

DINING WITH A LOCAL TWIST Whether it’s a barbecue on a deserted beach, the catch of the day cooked up by your onboard chef, or the gourmet breakfast that’s served each morning, our culinary experiences are designed to complement your journey and help you to create memories you’ll savour forever.

RESPONSIBLE TRAVEL In 2018, we made our commitment to doing good official when we became part of the world’s largest certified travel B Corp. Being a B Corp means we no longer merely strive to make a positive difference in the world, we are legally bound to it. Certified B Corps are companies that look after their staff, maintain a clean supply chain and take corporate social responsibility seriously. That means when you choose Peregrine, you can rest assured you’re travelling to improve the planet. Here are just some of the ways we do that:

CARBON POSITIVE ACTION Any emissions created by the transport or accommodation used in our trips are offset through the purchase of carbon credits, as part of our decade-long commitment to being a carbon neutral business.

ANIMAL WELFARE We’re industry leaders when it comes to animal welfare – in 2014 we were the first global tour operator to end elephant rides on our tours.

ENDING MODERN SLAVERY In 2016 we removed orphanage visits from our itineraries, and in 2019 we campaigned for laws that recognised orphanage tourism as a form of modern slavery.

COMMUNITY-BASED TOURISM Responsible, community-based tourism is good for both travellers and locals. That’s why we’ve worked with organisations like ActionAid in Myanmar to develop projects that empower communities.

Since 2002, The Intrepid Foundation has been offering travellers a tangible, transparent way to give back to the communities we visit. It’s simple: you donate, we double your contribution, and then we give 100% of that money to a community-based project. Thanks to you, we’ve donated over AU $7 million to more than 130 local organisations around the world, helping to improve the livelihoods of vulnerable individuals and communities through sustainable travel experiences. Find out how you can help at theintrepidfoundation.org

WHAT TO KNOW BOUTIQUE EXPEDITION CRUISING

GALAPAGOS

We know that after active days spent snorkelling with sea lions and walking over lava flows you want a place to relax, not just rest. Our custom-built motor cruiser the Grand Queen Beatriz, launched in July 2018, has a maximum capacity of 16 passengers – meaning it is compact enough to access the archipelago’s nooks and crannies, while remaining spacious and comfortable. For more information visit peregrineadventures.com/ grand-queen-beatriz.

ISLANDS

MEALS

Remote, rugged, and for the most part uninhabited – it’s clear why Darwin called the Galapagos Islands ‘a little world within itself’. Hike through a forest of prickly pear cacti under the watchful eyes of yellow-skinned iguanas. Wander among giant Galapagos tortoises in the shade of lush scalesia forest. Feel sands of black, red and white between your toes. Dive into clear waters and let curious sea lions swim rings around you.

Healthy, generous meals are prepared three times a day by the onboard chef – dietary requirements should be mentioned at the time of booking. Tea, coffee and purified water are always complimentary, and soft drinks and alcoholic beverages can be purchased at the bar (simply pay your tab at the end of your trip). You will receive a reusable water bottle on arrival that you can take with you when you leave.

PERMITS

There’s never been a better time, or a better way, to visit this enchanting archipelago.

In order to protect this fragile ecosystem, Galapagos National Park authorities restrict visitors to each site by issuing permits to every visiting vessel. These determine which sites can be visited each day, and when. This means you’ll get to see more of the wildlife you’ve come here for without vying for space among boatloads of tourists.

LUGGAGE Luggage limits apply to the flight to and from the Galapagos Islands. We suggest leaving non-essential items in the secure hotel storage in Quito.

TIPPING If you enjoy the services of your guide and crew, leaving a tip at the end of your journey is considered appropriate. For logistical and cultural reasons, this is an optional expense and not incorporated into your trip price.
