www.peoriaaz.gov Take Advantage of Our Beautiful Winter Weather

Now is our time to get outside and enjoy the cooler weather and great outdoor opportunities that Peoria has to offer. No need for indoor treadmills; head out to our 70+ miles of trails and explore nature, enjoy a rigorous workout and improve your mental health. Partake in our unique kayaking programs, youth and adult sports and the runner’s series for more fun and fitness outside the ‘box’. Even if you aren’t into these kinds of fast-paced activities, you can still simply enjoy life by being outdoors. With 36 parks that feature a variety of amenities including playgrounds, fishing, dog- friendly areas, basketball, tennis courts and picnic areas, we have a place for you to relish the season in nearly any way you like.

Councilmember Vicki Hunt Acacia District Vicki.Hunt@peoriaaz.gov

Special thanks to the Arrowhead Kiwanis Club and 65 hard-working volunteers who came out this past Oct. 24 to Kiwanis Park for a community build event. The park now has a brand new playground and a mix of new and fun amenities. The volunteer crew helped assemble the equipment and distributed 500 cubic yards of safety wood fibers and enjoyed a day full of improving the community. Playgrounds provide physical, social and developmental benefits for children as they have fun, explore and learn.

Gardeners and Learners Initiate Peoria’s First Community Garden

Councilmember Bill Patena Ironwood District Bill.Patena@peoriaaz.gov

Gardeners of all ages and backgrounds took stewardship of a plot and are now planting and harvesting the fruits (and vegetables) of their labors.
