HMS Trincomalee belonged to a class of 38-gun Fifth Rates that can claim to have been the Royal Navy’s standard frigate type for the whole of the Napoleonic Wars. Built in India of teak, she is now beautifully restored at Hartlepool, and can justly claim to be the last of Nelson’s frigates.

HMS Cavalier is a ‘C’Class destroyer, one of 96 War Emergency Programme destroyers that were ordered between 1940 and 1942. Now designated as a war memorial to the 142 RN destroyers and 11,000 men lost during WWII, she is beautifully displayed at Chatham Historic Dockyard.

HMS Belfast, originally a Royal Navy light cruiser, is now permanently moored on the Thames in London. One of ten Town-class cruisers she saw service on the icy Arctic convoys and was also present at the bombardment of the D-Day beaches in 1944.

HMS Trincomalee belonged to a class of 38-gun Fifth Rates that can claim to have been the Royal Navy’s standard frigate type for the whole of the Napoleonic Wars. Built in India of teak, she is now beautifully restored at Hartlepool, and can justly claim to be the last of Nelson’s frigates.

HMS Trincomalee belonged to a class of 38-gun Fifth Rates that can claim to have been the Royal Navy’s standard frigate type for the whole of the Napoleonic Wars. Built in India of teak, she is now beautifully restored at Hartlepool, and can justly claim to be the last of Nelson’s frigates.
