Increased profitability through Supply Chain Optimization (SCO)

What is tomorrow’s most crucial link?

If you’re a tech company, the most dramatic effect of megatrends like cloud computing, managed services and the rise of consumer technology won’t be felt in your company’s product line. The true disruption will be to your business model. ---

Today’s challenge Lower product margins are a clear trend in the CAD distribution business. In order to keep the profitability, new ways have to be found to increase efficiency. The supply chain is connected to a number of cost drivers which often are lacking management’s focus. There are some criteria to look for in order to judge if the sales administration and the order-to-payment processes are efficient enough. Potentials are possible to identify and even quantify,

The 2-day SCO Workshop

In order to enable a quick start of a more (cost) efficient way of working together, Future Group has developed an SCO workshop with a pre-defined agenda and content. This workshop (phase I) starts with a business review to capture the general conditions and continues with deeper interviews regarding the administration flow. The overall objective is to get deep enough in the analysis to make it possible to visualize and quantify the most important potentials and decide a start-up of practical improvements.

Agenda - Day 1 Business review from a supply chain perspective: • Business offer ➞ product range ➞ Order-To-Payment flow ➞ connected work flow ➞ Information systems involved ➞ KPI’s for performance management ➞ interactions with external parties • How does this review meet some classical requirements on an efficient business process? • Summary: Potential improvement areas to get

Preparations In order to secure productive seminar discussions, some facts must be prepared: • General business presentation with products, customers and customer behavior • Organization, focal point on logistics and administration • Order flow and how different cases are handled • Information and administration hand-overs internally and externally

deeper in

Agenda - Day 2 • Cost driver analysis including first rough quantification • Pinpoint potentials regarding resources for local / central handling • Agree on a suitable activity plan including responsibility for each to-do item • Agree on first follow-up meeting to secure progress

The SCO Process

Awareness The Autodesk partner has an increasing understanding that the business environment is changing. Changed conditions for pricing, new customer expectations and pressure on margins creates an increasing understanding that process efficiency is of great importance.

Preparation Participants will be provided with some preparation

Outcome The final physical result from the SCO workshop is a quantified summary of saving potentials throughout the Order-To-Payment process. The activity plan is the path to realize those savings in close cooperation between partner and Future Group (phase II)

topics in due time prior to the workshop. This will help you to get a flow oriented approach to the Autodesk partner’s business.

Workshop execution Based on a prepared business presentation, interviews and facilitation from Future Group’s Supply Chain Optimization expert, you will get a deeper understanding of what potentials are within reach. The SCO expert’s objective is to secure an activity plan with practical, actionable and realistic to-do items that are agreed by management team. • Agreed activity plan on the Management Team’s agenda. • Clear responsibilities pointed out.

Surveillance To ensure agreed activities are accomplished, we recommend diarizing a follow-up date for the workshop closing.
