Full Name: Minh Becker Date of Birth: 14.03.1981 Hometown: Heidelberg, Germany
Minh is one of our test skiiers and therefore an important part of our product development. As a Material Scientist with expertise in Biodegradable Magnesium Alloys for temporary implant applications Minh works long days in front of a computer. Being outdoor skiing on the weekends and competing in the Freeride World Qualifier Tour gives him energy and motivation to work during the week.
Why and when did you start skiing: When I was too old (3 years) to be in the backpack when my parents were skiing Best True Experience: Skiing fresh powder with friends Favourite music: Hip-hop, rock Favourite food: Asian Favourite book/reading: The Edge of Never, William A. Kerig Favourite resort both winter and summer: Verbier What do you still want to accomplish/dream in life: That I can do sports until I’m old Favourite Pelle P clothes: When it’s cold I prefer to ski in the Bec outfit but when it’s warm enough I use the Flow Anorak and Trousers. MEET OUR TRUE FRIEND - MALIN KARLSSON
Full Name: Malin Karlsson Date of Birth: 07.11.1993 Hometown: Umeå, Sweden
As an Extreme Skier; long and steep (45 to 60+ degrees) slopes in the mountainous terrain is your arena. When you’re skiing down the mountain every detail is essential therefore Malin is perfect as our test skier.
Why and when did you start skiing: It all started at an age of 2 and it’s all because of my parents that dragged me with them and taught me how to ski and let me realize the beauty of skiing. Best True Experience: An experience I will remember for a long time is the first time I winter camped during a skiing trip to Iceland. I really got to know the forces of nature and didn’t think I was going to survive the journey but then this though time turned into love and now I just want to do it over and over again. Favourite music: Calm and Happy is the word to describe what I want to listen to when I’m skiing but if I need to put it down to one artist, there is no one better to ski with than Florence and the Machine, Amen! Favourite food: Pancakes, pancakes, pancakes - if I could live on it, I would. Favourite resort both winter and summer: I have two winter resorts that’s important to me so I have a hard time too choose one or the other so I need to say them both, Verbier and Kittelfjäll. During summer there is no better palace than the Swedish archipelago Favourite Pelle P clothes: Hameau coat - It have saved me in so many frozen times. Worst moment in career: When we got caught in an avalanche and lost one very good friend and two years journey of fighting to find the joy in the sport again. Best moment in career: I could say the first time on podium but somehow in combination with my worst moment in my career I learnt that skiing is so much more. The best moment is one feeling in one very moment where you get fulfilled with joy. The moment you can’t describe but you can feel it and it is so unique that everything becomes so clear why you’re doing what you’re doing. Most respected skiers: A combination of Richard Permin and Sean Pettit, they can ski in perfection with a sense of making everything looking effortless and playful. What’s your quotes or motto in life: Since I have an habit to put myself in awkward situations the quote ”everything is gonna workout” is more or less what I live for. Best tip for beginners: Ski, ski, ski and ski loads and don’t be afraid for falling it only makes you stronger to push your boundaries. PELLEPETTERSON.COM
