Message from the President As we enter into 2013, my theme for the year will be increasing the value of the PCMA Heartland Chapter for its members through education and networking. Committee work has started with a conference call a few weeks ago so that each committee chair could share their goals for 2013 and support each other. We will have the opportunity to participate in some great meetings and there will be a focus to engage members from the entire region throughout the year. We will hear the headquarters goals next week at Convening Leaders and will make sure we incorporate them into our plans for the year as well. I look forward to working with Janice, our new Administrator, board and committee chairs in having a year that brings everyone a great return in investment of time and money for them personally and their company.
Greetings and Happy 2013 from the Communications Committee! The communications committee has decided to change up the newsletter this year! Instead of updating the chapter 3 times per year, we are trying a new tactic of a shorter, easier to read, more up to date, once monthly format! The 2013 Kansas City Meeting Industry Council (KC MIC) Education Conference and Tradeshow will be the place to be on Wednesday, February 27, 2013. Held at the Kansas City Convention Center this all day event will feature keynote speakers as well as educational breakout sessions of interest to both planners and suppliers. Although the KC MIC comprises 11 member organizations in the greater Kansas City area, our own Teresa Hellman is the KC MIC Chair.
