Founder’s Message Bonjour Mademoiselle, Welcome to the party place of beautiful ballerinas. When I think of ballet, I think of sophistication and romance, beauty and grace... Paris springs to mind... so does a cupboard full of tutus in pastel pink and white as well as little leotards in black... ribbons, lace, and anything dress-up. Divine inspiration for your ballet gala can come from anywhere; the darling dancing mouseling on television, Edward Degas’ beautiful paintings of ballet dancers, the costume extravaganzas of the Ballet Russes (the Russian Ballet), or famous classical stories such as Sleeping Beauty. There’s plenty of imagery to draw ideas from in the plots of Coppélia, about the doll that comes to life, or the favourite Nutcracker Suite where Clara is given a soldier doll who takes her to the ‘Kingdom of Sweets’ filled with Sugar Plum Fairies and the Ice Queen. Of course, there’s also the more contemporary renditions of black swans to get excited about. Dim the chandelier-light, hold your breath, and get ready to enter another world, one of magic, entertainment and action... and remember that just as it’s the ballerina’s job to tell a story through movement, your role as partyhost is to convincingly set the scene for making magical memories, and that’s where we come in to help! Go on… express yourself.

PLEASE always be careful when crafting, as craft equipment can be dangerous to young children.

Look for the Crown Rating to assess the level of difficulty Many projects in this Ebook are designed for young children to complete with scissors and glue - adult supervision is always required. Slightly more complicated projects require some ‘fussy-cutting’ and more moderate crafting skill, and may need some adult assistance. A few projects (or suggested upgrades) need crafting techniques for more mature crafters, or a large amount of adult assistance.

LOVELY LARGE LOCKET Keepsake Project 1. Print out the attached template and cut the two pictures out. 2. Fold both pieces along the dotted line – fold the gold one so that the colour is visible and fold the pink one so that the colour is hidden inside. 3. Glue the two pieces together – again – keep the pink piece on the inside and the all-gold piece on the outside. 4. Embellish as desired with sparkles and then add your own words of thanks inside – or stick a photo of the party person taken while they were at the party.

funky

This design also works well for a quirky invitation. It can also be used for a quick craft project the guests can do on the day, filling the inside with drawings or stickers instead of words.

On The Day Performance time!!

Turn on your music-maker of choice and fill the place with ballet music and snap a few photographs of the party place before guests arrive so you can boast about all your creative efforts... (and send us some pictures at Partycraft Secrets). Put on some perfume and a string of beads or your best tie, and throw the doors open to let the party begin. Don’t forget to take it easy and laugh a little – it’s hard work for youngsters to stay good and glamorous all the time... Besides it’s the cheeky eccentricities of our quirky children that make the most memorable moments!
