Into the wild Bay Area artist Marsha Heimbecker has giant-sized muses: the elephants who have been given refuge through the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya. She captures the elephants in her intensely colored oil paintings as they frolic, thrive and just plain live at the refuge. Her work is now on display in a solo exhibition at the Portola Art Gallery at the Allied Arts Guild in Menlo Park.
