Sight on the prism and press the {READ} key on the SRX. The following screen displays:

Enter a value in the Target Ht field and press {FUNC CTRL} + {ď §}.

Information for setting out the plan position of the point displays the following screen:
Right/Left.............Distance to move either left or right to get on line. The direction is from the instrument operator's point of view. In/Out...................Distance to move either in (toward the instrument) or out (away from the instrument) to get the prism on to the target point. Cut/Fill .................Amount of cut or fill that the currently observed position represents relative to the design point. Remember that the currently observed point is the physical point at the bottom of the prism pole. Aim H. obs ...........Horizontal angles required to sight to the target Aim V. obs ............Vertical angles required to sight to the target. H.obs.....................Horizontal observation angle V.obs .....................Vertical observation angle 7.

SRX
Press the {READ} key or [Target] softkey to refine your prism location on a horizontal plane. You can take as many observations to the prism as needed. After each observation, the Left/Right and In/Out fields are updated to reflect the latest position of the prism relative to the target point.
To avoid setting out a point vertically, you can press [Store] as a shortcut to immediately store the results and return to the point selection screen.
