On Tuesday, April 9, 2019 Javier El-Hage spoke to a large audience of World Affairs Council members and guests at the Colony Palm Beach Pavilion Room. El-Hage is the Chief Legal Officer at the Human Rights Foundation. He discussed Venezuela’s Descent into Dictatorship. Javier explained how political freedom and economic freedom have been virtually destroyed in Venezuela. In the 1960’s Venezuela was experiencing democracy. However by 2004 judicial independence no longer existed leading to the descent into dictatorship. Today Venezuela, formerly one of the richest countries globally, ranks next to last in economic freedom just ahead of North Korea.

There’s no waiting for the kennel to open the next morning. With help from your Furry Godmother, you can be happy and at home with your pet as soon as possible. *References available by request.

I absolutely trust Judy with my dog, Doodle. He is so excited whenever he sees her, which lets me know she takes great care of him. She feeds him high quality food, takes him on walks, and showers him with affection. She even sent me photos while I was away giving me the peace of mind that he was happy and comfortable. I highly recommend her pet sitting service.

Live at Lynn In the beautiful Keith C. and Elaine Johnson Wold Performing Arts Center in Boca Raton, internationally acclaimed Christine Andreas celebrated the legendary life and music of chanteuse Edith Piaf, who was known for her total disdain for the ordinary and the dramatic life she lived with great passion and joie de vivre. On March 30/31 in the Live at Lynn series at Lynn University, Andreas alternated between telling of Piaf’s resilient heart and transforming into her with crystal clear resonance. A performance to remember, the guests included Jacqueline Gill, Etoile Volin, Arlene Herson, Rosalie Schlegel, Maya Johnson of PBTI Magazine, Holli Rockwell Trubinsky and Joe Trubinsky, Ann and Rick Sommer, Dr. Maria Spinak and Charlie Rubinstein, cabaret performer Deborah Silver with husband Larry Silver, Sondy and Bob Berman, and the incomparable series producer Jan McArt. The following week, producer Jan McArt presented Mark Nadler in the Live at Lynn cabaret series at Lynn University in a brilliant rendition of Cole Porter After Dark. As part of the cabaret series from The Mabel Mercer Foundation at Lincoln Center in New York, Mark Nadler explored the charming lyrics and wit of the brilliant composer to create a swell party that only Cole Porter could. A small after-party in the Green Room included Holli Rockwell Trubinsky and Joe Trubinsky, Tammy and Richard Morgenstern, Etoile Volin and Isabel Paul, Arlene Herson and Shari Upbin chatting with the incomparable Mark Nadler himself.
