This year we proudly mark our twenty-first year at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. As organizers, each year we strive to exceed the prior year's offering of objects of excellence. We travel the globe, to the finest art and antiques shows worldwide, in addition to frequenting the most important shows in our nation. As a result, it is our pleasure to present an international array of unique and highly esteemed exhibitors in each category, brought together for one spectacular event. A show of this enormous breadth and depth presents challenges from inception through presentation and dismantling and requires the coordinated effort from a vast number of people. We would like to express our gratitude by congratulating everyone involved in making The Palm Beach Show a success. It is a true team effort that requires seamless production from our hardworking office staff to our technical and creative personnel, in order to bring this event to life. FUNNY BIRDS Secret Garden

The Venetian artist Anna Paola Cibin presents, for the first time exclusively at the Palm Beach Jewelry, Art & Antique Show 2024, the art installation ‘Funny Birds - Secret Garden,’ her latest work created in Murano glass.

unny Birds’ Secret Garden is an enchanted secret garden of the Venice lagoon. An aviary where the birds that live and migrate take on magical and precious forms that only Murano glass, unique in the world, can create and reflect. An installation that creates a space for inspiration and exploration, transporting visitors through art to rediscover the beauty of nature and creating conditions for our imagination to soar. Famous for her works in silk velvet, the artist brings to light the precious art of dyeing and processing silk velvet from Venice, her hometown. The Italian artist has discovered the possibility of bringing together different materials such as Murano glass and fabric, combining them through sophisticated techniques: a meeting of art and master craftsmen of excellence. Anna Paola Cibin’s magical creations are born from her deep-seated passion for Venetian fabric, growed during her studies at the Institute of Art in Venice and a sojourn in London, where the potential of velvet became apparent. The artist describes silk velvet as enchanting due to its ever-changing and unpredictable play of light, where her paintings materialize and vanish based on the viewer’s perspective. This unique interplay adds a touch of magic, creating an immersive experience that transcends traditional artistic boundaries.

Anna Paola Cibin. After studying art with a specialization in weaving in Venice, she moved to London where she specialized in fabric design. Upon her return to Venice, she worked with the master glassblowers of the island of Murano for some years. Through this partnership, she learned about the techniques of glass production and the possibilities offered by this material.

Each sculpture is created using different techniques and colors, chosen based on the design. There is a dedicated study phase in the furnace for each one. Anna Paola Cibin at work with master glassblower Andrea Zilio.

The aviary moke up, made of white wood, supports and exhibits 46 glass sculptures, poetic, iridescent, and magical birds inspired by nature, each one a unique work of art. (dimensions: 18 ft x 14 ft)

This impressive urn is the largest piece in Senzo Duma’s Midnight Safari Collection. Sculptor Thabo Mbhele has artfully crafted a vase of majestic Asian tigers. Thabo positioned the rampant tigers as urn handles on each side. Balanced between those and two tigers resting. For the finial, Thabo has created a mother and her cub. To compliment Thabo’s sculpting, Mlungisi Vilakazi has painted the urn in dark, risk colors with highlights of gold. The gold accents were artfully added as the very last step in the process.
