The house—Napa’s fabulous Uptown Theatre—will be rockin’ when multiple Grammy-winners LOS LOBOS roll into town. If you didn’t make it to San Jose recently to hear them open for Eric Clapton, you certainly don’t want to miss this chance to experience this exuberant, legendary band perform in the Bay Area. Legendary, you ask? Absolutely. This group of guys out of The wolf survives, March 24 in Napa. East L.A.—David Hidalgo, Conrad Lozano, Louie Perez and Cesar Rosas—started out playing rock and roll in 1973; the band became a quintet when “newcomer Steve Berlin signed on in 1984. These spirited musicians continue to evolve, mixing traditional Mexican folk music, rock and roll, blues, R&B, country and another genre or two to produce a sound all their own. Performing “La Bamba—and other Ritchie Valens hits—for the movie of the same name introduced Los Lobos to mainstream audiences. Currently the band can be heard on the soundtrack for the popular animated spaghetti Western Rango. But seeing them live is the way to go: Their energy onstage is infectious—it seems that the party just follows them wherever they go.Thursday, March 24, 8pm at the Uptown Theatre, 1350 Third St., Napa.Tickets and info: 707/259-0123 or uptowntheatrenapa.com.—Carol Inkellis foods and entertainment for kids and adults. 11am-3pm.
