High School: Graduating from Lincoln High School just down the road from Pacific in 2009, McCormick spent two seasons playing varsity softball for the Trojans. Both at the plate and behind the plate as a catcher, Makayla proved to be one of the top Trojans in the San Joaquin Athletic Association as she was twice named her team’s top offensive player while also earning second team all-league honors as a junior. In 2008, McCormick led the Trojans offensively as she drove in a teambest 16 runs on the year while posting a .269 batting average that included 18 hits with one double and two triples. As a junior, Makayla posted an impressive .386 average while driving in 10 runs and scoring 11 herself to help lead Lincoln to a 15-9-1 record. Personal: Makayla McCormick was born in San Jose, Calif., and is the daughter of Kim McCormick-Grudl. In her first year at Pacific, Makayla is an education major with plans to earn her teaching credential.

High School: Graduating from Northwood High School in Irvine, Calif., in 2009, Hom proved to be a tremendous defensive outfielder for the Timberwolves throughout her high school career. In her fourth and final varsity season, Megan posted a perfect defensive percentage, finishing the year without an error while patrolling center field. In addition to her stellar defense, Hom finished second on her team in hitting with a .348 batting average. She scored 13 runs and drove in eight at the top of the Timberwolves lineup en route to earning Second Team All-Sea View League honors. The all-league award was the fourth straight of her career. As a junior, Hom earned her first all-city award with a .347 batting average, 21 runs scored and 10 stolen bases. The year prior, Megan earned team Most Valuable Player and Best Offensive Player honors after hitting .400 with 34 hits and 11 runs on the season. She was named the Freshman of the Year in her first season of varsity action. Academically, Hom was a four-time member of the Principal’s Honor Roll as well as a three-time member of the California Scholarship Federation. She is also an accomplished musician as she was a member of the Northwood Marching Band and Wind Symphony. Personal: Megan Hom was born in Artesia, Calif., and is the daughter of Susan and Matthew Hom. She has one younger sister, Jenna. In her first year at Pacific, Megan is a biological sciences major.
