QUALITY ASSURANCE Quality Management Systems are an integral part of our business. Our clients can be confident that we are fully capable of project managing, fabricating, machining and painting products to their most stringent demands and specifications. Mechanical Inspectors, Fabri-

cation Inspectors and qualified Quality Engineers support the Quality Assurance System and ensure compliance with customer contractual requirements through the implementation of approved quality plans and adherence to European and American Standards. Weld procedures are qualified by supporting Procedure Qualification Records and the company Metallurgist ensures that welders’ approvals are in accordance with EN 287, EN 288 and the appropriate stress relieving requirements.

Production facilities and capacities GOMETEGUI’s production facility in Laudio-Llodio includes four fully-equipped industrial buildings, with more than 10,000 m2 of covered working space, and the following work capacities: »» Lifting capacity for up to 200 tonnes with the possibility of performing complex operations such as turning large size parts, etc. »» CNC machining up to 16 x 5.5 m. »» Vertical CNC machining up to 12x6.5 m. -120 Tn. »» Shot-blasting and painting cabins equipped with dollies. »» Sand-blasting and paint gun installations equipped with crane and forklift truck. »» Gas furnace for preheating and stress removal with automatic time and temperature graphics. NONSTOP WORKSHOP Gometegui’s Llodio facility is an Integrated Manufacturing Plant. This means that our company is capable of carrying out all the manufacturing processes (welding, handling, inspection and quality control, finishes, etc.) required to deliver the completely finished part or equipment to our customers in accordance with specifications and agreed delivery deadlines. As can be seen in our Installations and Capacities section, Gometegui has all the technical means required to undertake the manufacture of very large and heavy equipment and parts, and the equipment and know how to perform than most complex and delicate processes. And for those exceptional cases in which the specifications exceed our in-house capabilities, Gometegui has the support of the entire industrial fabric of the Basque Country, an area with a long industrial tradition comparable to the Ruhr basin, the Silesia region or northern Italy. 12

Welding Processes Besides its certifications, Gometegui is probably one of the leading experts in the world in welding processes for the manufacture of capital goods. The experience of our staff and the in-depth knowledge we have acquired about the behaviour of materials and the problems that might arise when making these operate under the most extreme conditions, allow us to take on the manufacture of virtually any part or assembly with the maximum reliability. WELDING EQUIPMENT
The department has an extensive catalogue of welding processes in accordance with national and international standards, including EN and ASME. We use all the materials and processes on the market in any thickness. Gometegui has developed special techniques by combining MIG and MAG with the latest technologies to improve quality and productivity.

GOMETEGUI’s main facility is located in Laudio-Llodio, only 30 km from the port and airport of Bilbao, the economic, cultural and industrial capital of the Basque Country. This area has a long industrial tradition and culture and in its own right has formed part of the European Atlantic Axis since the end of the 19th century.
