GOD’S PATTERN FORBIDS WOMEN PREACHERS!

In I Corinthians 11:3, Paul wrote, “But I would have you to know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of woman is man; and the head of Christ is God.” That arrangement is permanent and not subject to change! The culture of today does not alter in any manner God’s divine arrangement! In I Corinthians 11 :8-9 Paul is setting forth the authority of man and the subordination of woman. “For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. Neither was the man created for the woman ; but the woman for the man.” This is a reference to Genesis 2:20-21. It is of great significance to note I Timothy 2:13, “For Adam was first formed then Eve.” Eve was to be Adam’s “help meet” (Gen.2:20). In conjunction with this Adam named Eve (Gen. 3:20) which clearly establishes the headship, authority and leadership of Adam. Friends, the New Testament is the pattern we are to follow. The fact that we are to worship God “in spirit and in truth” (Jno. 4:24) establishes a pattern! In Hebrews 8:5 Moses built the tabernacle “according to the pattern.” The same Greek word (tupos) pattern is used by Paul in speaking of works and doctrine in Titus 2:7. It was the same pattern of doctrine that Paul preached in Rome which resulted in people obeying the gospel, “But God be thanked that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness” (Rom.6:17-18). When one rejects the Bible as the pattern they are rejecting God’s word and even Christ Himself (Jno.12:48)! Regarding the role of women in the public assembly, Paul states, “Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence” (I Tim.2:11-12). Therefore, women are forbidden to “usurp authority” that is “to have dominion over a man” (ASV). In I Corinthians 14:34-35 Paul forbids women to speak in leadership positions in the assembly. “Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience; as also saith the law. And if they will learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.” The word “silence” in the assembly does not forbid a woman from singing in the assembly, or making an oral confession of her faith in Christ to be baptized. What women are forbidden to do is to teach or deliver a didactic discourse over men either in a Bible class or in the assembly (I Tim.2:11-12)! Furthermore, no man has the authority to give permission for women to do otherwise! Howell County Sheriff’s Office, West Plains City Police Department & missouri Highway Patrol A few nights ago our burglar alarm went off just after midnight. It was a motion sensor that had malfunctioned but we didn’t know that at the time. When reviewing the video surveillance the Howell County Sheriff Department arrived within minutes with two cars. This Missouri Highway Patrol arrived about 30 seconds later. The speed and professionalism used by these agencies was outstanding. I know the City Police were close by also. Didn’t see them in the video but they have responded several times over the years when the HCSD were busy on other business. We are very fortunate to live in an area where we have excellent law enforcement and the agencies work so well together.
