Hospital and health information Dedication pays off for outback paramedic.

Paul Chapman’s definition of a good paramedic runs much deeper than medical ability. To him understanding, sensitivity and patience all go hand-inhand with the job. The Cunnamullabased ambulance officer has worked hard to overcome a yawning cultural divide in his local community. In 2006 Mr Chapman was named Paramedic of the Year at the Star Care Awards for Excellence in recognition of his work in the predominately indigenous community. Cunnamulla was also named Station of the Year at an awards ceremony in Toowoomba.
