Excellence in Occupational Safety
Master of Safety™ Management training program in Occupational Health & Safety Program is targeted to experts and managers with tasks in managing environment, health, quality and/or safety issues in workplace. Program is run by the University of Oulu, Oulu Business School together with the Association of Finnish Safety Managers, Finnsafe. The program is conducted in Finnish. In the autumn semester the program consists of 4 seminars and 11 contact teaching days and transfers to 15 ECTS -credits. The spring semester consists of 15 credits and includes 10 days of class room teaching with Executive MBA program in the content of leadership and managing organizational behavior. There are written assignments included in the seminars and they are graded based on the university scale of 1 - 5. Additionally, in the program there will be up to 50 credits of acknowledged and transferred credits based on student’s previous work experience and work-related short courses which are approved by the Association of Finnish Safety Managers. This acknowledgement of prior studies and work experience is also a prerequisite for intake.

3. Spring semester seminars, 15 ects: • Responsible leadership & leadership development (6 ects) • Transformative leadership in an organization (6 ects) • Essay on selected safety management literature (3 ects)

Each seminar includes a written assignment which relates to students’ relevant safety management issue in one’s own workplace.
CERTIFICATE After finalizing all the above mentioned courses with written assignments and fulfilling the prerequisite of acknowledgement of work experience and possible short courses, students are awarded an 80 ECTS Master of SafetyTM certificate with the University of Oulu, Oulu Business School and AACSB labels. There is a welldesigned path towards the Executive MBA in Safety Management diploma after this.
PRICE Master of SafetyTM program costs 9.000,00 € (+ VAT 24 %). The price covers tuition, materials, evaluation of assignments and the certificate.
