Kim Ward was named first-team All-American in 1994 and was a second-team All-American selection in 1995. In both of her years as a Cowgirl, she was named to the AllBig Eight team and the all-Midwest Region team. Ward was an integral part of the 1994 Women’s College World Series team that took third place. She was selected to be on the WCWS all-tournament team. During her career in Stillwater, Ward threw five career no-hitters. She is second among all Cowgirls for wins in a season with 27 and is fourth for appearances in a season with 42. The California native is in the top five among Oklahoma State players in several career categories. She is second for career slugging percentage (.557) and third in career saves (five). She is fourth all-time for career on-base percentage with .428 and is also fourth for the most strikeouts per seven-inning game at 7.81 strikeouts per game.

Dee Brewer was named a firstteam All-American as a freshman in 1988. During her Oklahoma State career, she was selected twice to the All-Big Eight team, once to the allregion team and once to the Big Eight all-tournament team. Brewer was also a member of the 1989 Women’s College World Series team that tied for third place. As on outfielder for the Cowgirls, Brewer stood out on the offensive end. In 1989, she had four hits against Sam Houston State, which is tied for the second-most hits in a game. She is also in the top 10 for several season records including batting average (ninth with a .390 average), hits (ninth with 67), runs scored (seventh with 36), and total bases (seventh with 100). Brewer is also listed among the career offensive record numbers, despite playing just two seasons. She is sixth with her .416 on-base percentage. Her .355 career batting average ranks fourth in school history.

Lauren Bay was a first-team All-America selection in 2003 and earned several accolades during her four years as a Cowgirl. She was named all-Big 12 all four years and Academic all-Big 12 and all-Midwest Region in 2001, 2002 and 2003. Bay is the only Cowgirl to be honored as the Big 12 Player of the Year (2003) and she was also selected as the pitcher for the Big 12’s 10th Anniversary Team. During her career in Stillwater, Lauren left her mark in the record books and holds the top spot for several categories. The native of Canada has the most strikeouts per seven-inning game in a season (12.71) as well as a career (9.44). She holds the top two spots for most strikeouts in a season with 451 in 2003 and 314 in 2002. Bay holds the record for career strikeouts with 1,151. Lauren threw three no-hitters in her career, including two perfect games against Tulsa and South Florida in 2002. She also has the most career saves among OSU players with eight. After her years at Oklahoma State, Bay went on to play for the Canadian National Team, which included an appearance on the roster for the 2004 Athens Olympic Games where Canada placed fifth. She was named co-Pitcher of the Year with teammate Jennie Finch in the NPF league playing for the Chicago Bandits.

1st team All-American in 1980

In 1980, Jan Drummond was the first Cowgirl to be named a first-team All-American. The centerfielder from Stillwater was a four-year member of the Cowgirl softball team at Oklahoma State. During the 1980 season, Drummond compiled a .324 batting average, second-best on the team. She scored a team-high 30 runs and finished the year with two home runs and eight runs batted in. Also in 1980, her senior season, the Cowgirls advanced to the AIAW National Tournament for the first time in school history, compiling a 2-2 record at the tournament held in Norman. The Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women would eventually give way to the NCAA and the Women’s College World Series. Drummond played a major role in the transition of women’s athletics moving from the Colvin Center to the OSU athletics department. She was a member of the women’s track and field hockey team as well.
