Once you’ve reached the Online Registration page, follow these steps: 1. Enter your username and password or, if you do not have one, click “Need an Account?” Once your information has been submitted, you will receive a confirmation email. You may then register for activities by following the instructions below. 2. Under the Quick Links bar, click “Browse Activities.” 3. Locate your activity and click on the shopping cart on the left. 4. Click on the “Enroll Now” button that pops up at the bottom of the screen. 5. The Oro Valley Community Center is a 52,000+ square-foot facility located in the heart of Oro Valley. The center features more than 100 fitness classes a month, Kids Korner, a full suite of cardio and strength equipment, spin studio, two racquetball courts, four pickleball courts, 15 lighted tennis courts, two 18-hole golf courses and a lap pool. The center also has two meeting rooms, a golf shop and full service restaurant/bar. The Parks and Recreation Administrative Offices are located in the center. We offer two fitness packages: Classic and Premium. Fitness memberships are billed monthly, with a 30-day written cancellation notice required. The Community Center also offers drop-in daily use fees.

AQUATICS PROGRAMS GROUP SWIM LESSONS Group swim lessons are offered March through October every year. Each session is a month long with classes offered twice a week, for a total of four weeks. The specifics of each session will be posted on the Town’s website, with hard copies on site. Registration for each session will only be available in person at the Aquatic Center and will open approximately two week prior to the start of the session. Sessions are: • • • • • •

ADULT (MASTERS) SWIM TEAM United States Masters Swimming (USMS) is a national membershipoperated nonprofit organization that provides membership benefits to nearly 60,000 Masters swimmers across the country. FIND YOUR FINS Find Your Fins (FYF) is a nonprofit, working to get veterans, addicts, seniors, financially burdened, disabled and special needs individuals into the water. We provide swim lessons to all of these populations for free. All levels, from extremely fearful to great swimmers, are welcome. Expand your world to water where so many benefits await! Level Details Parent/Tot (PT): The goal of this level is to get children ages 18 months to 3 years comfortable in the water with both their parents and an instructor. Level 1 (Ages 3-5): Swimmers will spend time on the steps while the instructor works with each child individually. This level’s swimmers will learn to: • Fully submerge head • Unassisted pool exit • Assisted back float • Unassisted standing • Unassisted front float jump entry • Spiderman crawl Level 2 (Ages 4-7): This level’s swimmers will learn: • Unassisted rhythmic • Unassisted back kick bobs • Deep water object • Unassisted back float recovery • Unassisted front kick with rhythmic breathing Level 3 (Ages 6-9) This level’s swimmers will learn: • Freestyle kick with rhythmic breath 20M • Backstroke kick 20M • Freestyle arm action with rhythmic breaths 15M • Backstroke arm action 15M • Breast (frog) kick motion • Fly (dolphin) kick motion Level 4/Green Group (Ages 8-12) This is the final swim lesson level at FAST. After completing this level, swimmers will be ready to join the Blue Group on the FAST swim team, pending a coach evaluation. This level’s swimmers will learn: • • •

Come join an Oro Valley staff member as they teach American Red Cross Lifeguarding skills. A certification in lifeguarding from the American Red Cross is your first step in obtaining a rewarding job as a lifeguard. Audience: Ages 15+ Days/Times: Monday – Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Session Dates: March 18 – 22 Fee: $90 Location: Oro Valley Aquatic Center 23 W. AQUATICS PROGRAMS WATER AEROBICS & PILATES

by Nancy Whitlock with Balanced Spirit Pilates Studio Water aerobics is a water exercise performed in fairly shallow water. It is a type of resistance training done mostly vertically without swimming. Pilates is a safe, sensible workout for everyone. It improves core strength, flexibility and balance and can help alleviate back pain and other chronic ailments. Pilates can dramatically transform the way your body looks, feels and performs. WRITING CONTEST FOR FOURTH GRADERS

The Oro Valley Historic Preservation Commission sponsors the annual William H. Adler Historic Essay Writing Contest in conjunction with the Oro Valley Historical Society. All students in the fourth grade (including charter, public, private or home schooled), who reside in the Amphitheater School District, are eligible to participate in the contest. Deadline for submissions is February 15, 2019. Top contestants will receive a certificate of participation. Awards will be gift cards valued at $100 (first place), $75 (second place), and $50 (third place). Last year we had our biggest Easter Eggstravaganza ever, and Oro Valley showed up in force! This year, we’ll have more animals from the petting zoo, more Easter eggs to find and even more fun! The weather is perfect, the site is beautiful, and we plan on again having a great day at Naranja Park! ORO VALLEY THEATRE COMPANY CALL FOR AUDITIONS The musical, The Fantasticks, opened in New York in 1960, and ran for 57 years. It remains the longest running musical in New York! And now, the Oro Valley Theatre Company is holding open auditions for this much-loved musical! Auditions will be held on February 25 and 27, times and location TBD.
