a note from the editor
Let
your shadows engulf you, don’t resist.
Observe
shadows as though they are not a result of
a light source but rather that they act of their own free will, moving where they please.
Watch
how they
love to drape their dark blanket over whatever they can, especially inside of us.
It
takes much practice to sculpt and refine the light
within ourselves so we can be sure the world perceives us the way we choose.
Our
shadows are the unfiltered
raw side of us that we often try to hide when it decides to reveal itself, which contradicts the world we live in, a world where we all seek truth.
When
you surrender to your shadows, they bring you
to places where the most intriguing beings thrive in total darkness.
They
allow you to see what history
there is to discover within the shadowy crevasses of a stone wall or the beauty of a dying flower.
They
show you how vast and velvety a cast shadow of a rose can be, how smooth it’s gradient or how clear and concise it’s edges are.
Everyone
has shadows, and this issue is about embracing
the beautiful truths that lurk within your dark side.
