Building on the success of Vanderpump Cocktail Garden at Caesars Palace, Lisa Vanderpump is set to open a sleek, sexy new lounge at Paris Las Vegas. We caught up with the television star and restauranteur to see what to expect at Vanderpump à Paris. From living in France and visiting Paris, what do you hope to replicate? We had such an incredible time living there for close to 10 years, and our family’s wine production is still based in Provence, so we are inextricably tied to the country. You’ll find our love for French wine, delicious French food, and our fascination with French culture and history peppered throughout the space. What does Paris symbolize to you? Paris is the City of Love, so you know you are going to find your fair share of sexy at Vanderpump à Paris. But one of the most exciting elements is how we really embraced the laissez-faire, Belle Époque sort of attitude that Paris has long been known for. You’ll find nods to Paris history throughout our cocktail menus, and decor. It is the roaring 20s again after all. What vibe will Vanderpump à Paris have? Working with [designer] Nick Alain has allowed us to bring this place to life on another level. The designs are unlike anything anybody has ever seen. You’ll see vignettes of Parisian elegance, coupled with the romantic industrial design. From elements of art deco, to burlesque, to classic Parisian architecture. Give us a hint on what the cocktail list will look like. We have created a menu that is as adventurous and unique as the space, but that brings to life classic and much-loved cocktails in completely new and exciting ways. RAMSAY TO OPEN LARGEST HELL’S KITCHEN
Caesars Virginia, a $500 million resort, is coming to Danville. The project will include 500 hotel rooms; 40,000 square feet of meeting and convention space; an entertainment venue accommodating up to 2,500 guests; restaurants and bars; and a state-of-the-art casino floor featuring more than 1,400 cuttingedge slot machines and table games. There will also be a Caesars Sportsbook and a 25-table WSOP Poker Room. Caesars Virginia is expected to open in late 2023.
Hurricane damage and the pandemic forced Isle of Capri Lake Charles to shut down in 2020, but the property will soon turn into an all-new destination with exciting gaming, hotel and dining offerings. Plans for Horseshoe Casino Lake Charles call for a 253-room hotel tower; new restaurants, including a Brew Brothers Tap House; and a 60,000-square-foot casino with nearly 1,000 slot machines and table games; a live WSOP Poker Room; and a new Caesars Sportsbook location. The resort will join the Caesars Rewards program and is expected to be completed by fall 2022.
Get fired up! The largest Gordon Ramsay HELL’S KITCHEN is opening at Harrah’s Resort Southern California in summer 2022. The third U.S. version will seat 332 guests and feature design and menu elements inspired by the long-running FOX culinary competition series of the same name. HELL’S KITCHEN will have three areas for guests including two chef’s tables, a full-service restaurant and elegant lounge. Currently, HELL’S KITCHEN operates two U.S. venues, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and Harveys Lake Tahoe, and has another at Caesars Bluewaters Dubai.

4 COLUMBUS, OHIO A GRAND PLAN FOR SCIOTO DOWNS Eldorado Gaming Scioto Downs, Ohio’s first racino, is investing $20 million on a new grandstand that will feature 768 stadium seats on the main level with 280 more on the terrace and an open apron area. Two VIP suites will accommodate up to 130 guests. Scioto Downs has hosted live races, concerts and events at the track for six decades. NOBU EXPANSION The Nobu empire is growing with plans to open two new Nobu Hotels and restaurants at Harrah’s New Orleans and Caesars Atlantic City, along with a new Nobu restaurant at Paris Las Vegas. Founded by Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, actor Robert De Niro and businessman Meir Teper, the group combined modern luxury with Japanese style to open the very first Nobu Hotel at Caesars Palace in 2013. Since then, more than a dozen Nobu Hotels have sprouted around the world. “Our relationship with Nobu has been an unparalleled success in Las Vegas, and as we continue to invest there and in New Orleans and Atlantic City, we felt it was the perfect opportunity to deepen and expand that relationship,” said Tom Reeg, CEO of Caesars Entertainment. NOBU HOTEL CAESARS PALACE A multimillion-dollar refresh of all 182 guest rooms is in the works. Re-envisioned by Rockwell Group, the design concept was inspired by kintsugi —the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold epoxy. The refreshed rooms will feature aubergine-hued carpeting, along with a custom sofa and new furnishings.

PARIS LAS VEGAS A new Nobu restaurant and lounge featuring the chef’s fusion cuisine, which combines traditional Japanese dishes with Peruvian ingredients, is expected to debut in early 2022. NOBU HOTEL ATLANTIC CITY A Nobu Hotel and restaurant are projected to open in summer of 2022 within Caesars Atlantic City, part of a $400 million investment into the destination by 2023. NOBU HOTEL NEW ORLEANS The multimillion-dollar transformation of Harrah’s New Orleans into Caesars New Orleans will include a Nobu Hotel and restaurant expected to open in 2024.
Hell’s Kitchen: Young Guns winner Trenton Garvey makes his Las Vegas debut. The confident and talented star, affectionately known as “Chef Gravy” by friends, beat out 18 other young chefs to win the 20th season of Hell’s Kitchen and the position of head chef at Gordon Ramsay Steak at Paris Las Vegas. Garvey enrolled in school to follow his passion for cooking and honed his skills as executive chef at The Blue Duck in St. Louis. BURGERS BOBBY FLAY TO OPEN TWO NEW LOCATIONS Bobby Flay is expanding his burger empire. Already operating a Bobby’s Burgers in the Forum Food Hall at Caesars Palace, he is set to add two new Strip locations at Harrah’s Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas. The fast-casual burger joint is inspired by Flay’s love of the grill and the traditional burger, fries and shake combo. Only he elevates each with his own twist. Flay’s signature burgers include the Crunchburger, topped with bacon, American cheese and potato chips, and the Bobby Blue + Bacon Burger with blue cheese sauce and bacon. He even has a Veggie Burger made with barbecued mushrooms, chickpeas, quinoa, lettuce and tomato. Sweet potato fries, buttermilk onion rings and fries smothered in cheese or bacon are side options, while creamy milkshake flavors include vanilla bean, dark chocolate, cookies + cream, strawberry and pistachio.
A TASTE OF LOUISIANA Score big time with Cajun cuisine. A Southern favorite, Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux, will offer guests authentic Louisiana classics and Americana favorites when it opens in early 2022 at Harrah’s Las Vegas. This go-to destination for fans on game day, co-owned by former New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, will feature more than 60 TVs and a mouthwatering menu that includes Crawfish Etouffee, Duck & Andouille Gumbo and Krispy Kreme Donut Bread Pudding. It will also feature a breakfast menu, with items like Voodoo Shrimp and Grits, Beignets and their popular signature cocktail, the Mad Mary.

Spiegelworld, the trailblazing troupe responsible for the show ABSINTHE, is teaming up with Caesars Entertainment to bring three new live productions to resorts in Las Vegas, Atlantic City and New Orleans.
Donny Osmond’s new solo gig is taking audiences back in time. His show at Harrah’s Las Vegas, simply titled “Donny,” is a nostalgic look at a career that has spanned six decades. And he starts at the very beginning, showing a video clip of him at age five singing “You Are My Sunshine” on The Andy Williams Show in 1963. It was an appearance that launched his family’s long career, including the recently ended 11-year residency at Flamingo Las Vegas. With this show, Osmond is showing a different side of himself as he tells his musical journal. He speaks of Broadway, The Masked Singer and Dancing with the Stars and sings the familiar, “Soldier of Love,” “Sacred Emotion” and “Puppy Love,” but he also dives in allowing fans to request any song from his vast catalog for him to sing—some accompanied by a video. And later, he shares memories through a rap song, an “Auto-rap-ography,” as he calls it.
First up will be DiscoShow at The LINQ Hotel + Experience in Las Vegas. Housed in the new Spiegelworld Glitterloft theatre, the show, with a late 2022 opening, will invite audiences to be part of the action as it follows the lives of the characters through the birth of disco. In Atlantic City, Spiegelworld will resurrect the historic Warner Theatre incorporating its heritage 1929 façade bringing the venue back to the life on the center of the boardwalk. The show is expected to open in early 2023. A third show is being developed for Caesars New Orleans to open in 2024. Spiegelworld producer Ross Mollison says, “What drives us is combining genre-defying live entertainment, integrated dining, outstanding beverage programs and specially commissioned art to create an intimate, immersive, surprising total night out which is unique to each city.”
On opening night, Osmond announced that “Donny” had been extended through 2022. “I’ve been performing for many, many years and it looks like I’ll be performing for another,” he said. It was a no-brainer for Smoove—a lover of sports—to come aboard as Caesar. He credited his lively, irreverent persona and straightforward candor with landing him the opportunity. Putting on the imperial garb reminds him of how far he’s come in his threedecade-long career in show business.
CONQUERING THE COMEDY WORLD Smoove realized he had what it takes to make people laugh during a mock dating game at his alma mater, Norfolk State University. “I was so damn funny,” he said. “I don’t even know if I’d be doing stand-up or be where I am today if I didn’t go on stage. If I didn’t hear the roar from people stomping their feet or throwing stuff on stage, I don’t know if I wouldn’t have gone home or not have the option to go back.” Later, in the early ’90s, Smoove cut his teeth doing stand-up three to four nights a week while he was working as an engineer. He quit his day job the day his daughter, Jerrica, was born so he could pursue his dream: becoming well known for his boisterous delivery and favoring comic premise rather than telling jokes as the vehicle to entertain his audiences. He went on to appear in a slew of film and television programs, including Def Comedy Jam, The Real Husbands of Hollywood and one of his best-known roles, as Larry David’s freeloading sidekick in Curb Your Enthusiasm. His character, Leon Black, has returned for the 11th season of the hit HBO comedy. “The world is always giving Larry material,” Smoove said. “We attach the writing to the heartbeat of what’s going on in the country. He can go there, and that’s what makes the show fun.” He was secretive about reviving another key role as teacher Julius Dell in No Way Home, the ninth installment of the Spider-Man film series. The go-getter now hosts an MSG Network series, Four Courses with JB Smoove, featuring athletes and comics having conversations over meals, and co-hosts the podcast May I Elaborate? Daily Wisdom from JB Smoove.

“I can’t do the same show twice,” he said, calling each set and stage he’s on “his playground.” “I work with what’s presented and off what I hear. The size of the stage, lighting, proximity of the audience to me, and type of microphone [matter]. All of it plays a part in my thinking.” In September 2021, he picked up an Emmy Award for portraying Chief Billy Bills on the Roku Channel’s mystery parody Mapleworth Murders. Taking home the coveted statue for the short-form streaming series is a new chapter for Smoove’s career—the result of “me never being afraid to make chess moves and planting seeds along the way.” “We have to put the toe in the water sometimes,” Smoove, 55, said. “Being in a class with other professionals paves the way for your next thing. You have to be in it to win it. It makes you think about all of the things you’ve done or the time you’ve worked so hard on it. You can’t help it because we put a lot into our characters. It brings anticipation to the possibilities of your next nomination. My goal is to hit a home run and be nominated for some greater work.”
SEIZE THE PLAY His starring role for Caesars Sportsbook is a winner. “The app is absolutely amazing,” he said. “I like to go through it so that I can turn people on to it. I study trends very carefully and how people are playing, injuries, and all that. I have fun, and I’m trying to turn people on to the fun side of it and enjoy it.” The Caesars Sportsbook commercial opens with Smoove spinning in a circle, dressed to the nines in full emperor chic. His cape blows behind him as he walks out on a rooftop to a majestic drum soundtrack and stands before a chanting crowd. The clip instantly cuts to Smoove announcing the app at a press conference.

Hart & Huntington Tattoo As he wrapped up his motocross career, Carey Hart’s “passion project” was to take tattoos mainstream. He did that by opening the first high-end tattoo parlor in a casino-resort at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas in 2004. As a heavily tattooed motocross racer who has suffered his share of broken bones, Carey Hart has a reputation as a tough guy. But appearing in his superstar wife’s Amazon Prime documentary, Pink: All I Know So Far, he showed a softer side. “I’m kind of glad I got to show a little bit of my vulnerable side as a father,” he said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. He also revealed in an interview with Inked that his most treasured tattoos represent his family, including his wife of 15 years, Pink, and their two children, Willow, 10, and Jameson, 4, whose names he has tattooed under his collarbone. “My most meaningful tattoos are the pieces on my neck,” Hart told the magazine. “I have an angel for my brother, Anthony, who died racing motorcycles, and an angel for my daughter, Willow. I have my wife’s name under my chin—most painful spot I’ve been tattooed—and my Pop on the back of my neck in a sacred heart.” With the opening of his new Hart & Huntington Tattoo shop in The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, the 46-year-old entrepreneur has an opportunity to add more. The 1,080-square-foot studio has four tattoo stations and a retail area. It’s the company’s fifth Hart & Huntington Tattoo location. All in top travel destinations as co-owner Chris Turck explained. “Clearly there is still a great demand for tattoos,” Turck said. “Vacation spots like Vegas, Orlando, Nashville, Noosa [Queensland Australia] and Niagara [Falls] are host to millions of people looking to get some body art as a sort of lifelong souvenir of their visit.” Hart & Huntington Tattoo has a consultation bar, four tattoo stations, including one that mimics Carey Hart’s personal workshop, and a retail area.

But as much as his Caesars Palace restaurant reflects the original, Savoy has learned there are some things that you can only experience at the Las Vegas location. For one, you can’t see the Eiffel Tower from the Paris restaurant’s window. And you certainly don’t have to eat as late as the French do. “Regrettably, I cannot get [Paris] guests to turn up at 5:30 p.m.,” laughs Savoy. Japanese Wagyu Beef and Lobster
He’s made sure to have some fun and make some only-in-Vegas memories as well. Savoy recalls fondly how he and Celine Dion together painted the eye on a lion to “awaken” it for a Chinese New Year tradition, and when he and French actress Line Renaud lit the Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas to showcase its new dazzling lightshow. But ultimately, the memories he treasures most are “all the warm reunions with our faithful guests.”

The official NFL casino sponsor and one of the league’s sports betting partners, Caesars Entertainment has independent deals with eight NFL teams including the Las Vegas Raiders and New Orleans Saints. BALTIMORE RAVENS With a Caesars Sportsbook in development and naming rights on the club level of M&T Bank Stadium, Caesars Entertainment has teamed up with the Baltimore Ravens to provide fans with a first-class betting experience with its mobile app and a retail sportsbook when sports betting goes live in the state. The team is also partnering with Horseshoe Casino Baltimore to develop a new entertainment district along the Warner Street corridor linking the stadium to the casino.
INDIANAPOLIS COLTS As the Colts’ only official casino partner, Harrah’s Hoosier Park Racing & Casino and Indiana Grand Racing & Casino opened Caesars Sportsbook locations and named Caesars Sportsbook a premier sports betting partner of the team. HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE Just a few years into becoming a professional sports town, Las Vegas is already an attractive site to host major sporting events.
WASHINGTON CAPITALS A partnership inked with the Washington Capitals will place the Caesars Sportsbook logo on Capitals home and third jerseys worn for games played at Capital One Arena beginning with the 2022-23 NHL season. The introduction of the patch follows last year’s opening of a Caesars Sportsbook location at Capital One Arena. The first sports betting venue to open within an American professional sports complex, the two-story, 18,000 square-foot space features 17 betting windows and 17 self-service betting kiosks.
ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS With plans in motion to build a two-story Caesars Sportsbook and sports bar on the plaza outside Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks, Caesars Sportsbook has brought legal sports betting to the great sports fans in Arizona through in-person betting and the best-in-class Caesars Sportsbook app. Arizona residents can now download and use the app to bet games right from their phone. In addition to mobile wagering, sports bettors in Arizona can place in-person bets at Chase Field, the first sportsbook at an MLB stadium.

Who taught you to play poker? What do you like best about the game? I played with my brothers growing up and watched all the WSOP broadcasts on TV to learn the game. I love that poker involves enough skill to reward those who want to study and take it seriously, and enough luck to make it fun for those who don’t.
QUESTIONS WITH POKER’S JAMIE KERSTETTER In a male-dominated sport, poker player and World Series of Poker commentator Jamie Kerstetter stands out on her own. The Rutgers University graduate left her job as an attorney to focus on poker full time. Now, she’s not only playing and cashing at WSOP events (although she’s still in pursuit of her first WSOP gold bracelet), but she’s also lending her voice to the broadcasts.

How can you tell if someone is bluffing? It’s hard to answer because individual players react to the discomfort of bluffing in a variety of ways. My best advice would be to slow down and observe how a player’s mannerisms change in the minute or so while you’re trying to make your decision. Someone who becomes more comfortable as time passes— their breathing slows, and they aren’t sitting rigidly—is more likely to have a good hand. Why don’t more women play poker? The age-old question! There are likely many reasons including women more often being the primary caregiver for children, having less disposable income, societal pressure to be more risk averse and more responsible with money, feeling like an outsider as such a tiny minority in a poker room, and I don’t want to discount the possibility of genetic differences in our brains that could make risk less palatable for women. However, great strides have been made over the last decade to welcome women into the game. I wish more would give it a chance.
What would it mean to you to win a WSOP bracelet? I’m going to have to bad beat hundreds, if not thousands, of people. What is more difficult, playing or doing commentary? I find commentary more difficult because you have to try to see the game through the eyes of multiple players at the table to better understand the motive behind their actions, and you have to pay attention to every street, every hand. I let my mind wander occasionally when playing, as days can be 12+ hours long, but I can’t do that for even a second in the booth without losing track of the action.
“This year, more than ever,” says WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart, “we embrace our role at the WSOP to deliver memorable experiences and bring this community of poker lovers back together.” This year’s WSOP featured a full poker schedule with 88 live Gold Bracelet events at Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, and an additional 10 online games.

Let’s Go! COUNTRY STAR SHANIA TWAIN IS PROVING SHE’S STILL THE ONE
The Twain Town Saloon is swinging open its doors. Shania Twain is returning to Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino with her high-energy “Let’s Go!” residency, which includes eight costume changes and a set sung in a country saloon. The concert is a celebration of Twain’s country-pop singalongs, including “Man! I Feel Like a Woman,” “That Don’t Impress Me Much” and “You’re Still the One.” Twain’s shows in December mark her first concerts in Las Vegas since the pandemic began. In October 2020, Twain celebrated the 25th anniversary of her breakthrough album with the release of The Woman in Me: Diamond Edition. The three-CD box set includes 16 previously unreleased tracks, several remixes and five live recordings from her Planet Hollywood residency. Twain, a Canadian girl who went from singing on bar tops to becoming one of the biggest-selling artists of all time, told Caesars Player, shortly after the launch of her “Let’s Go!” residency, that she doesn’t consider herself just a country superstar. “I grew up singing rock. I grew up singing country. I could have just focused on one genre, but that’s not who I am. I meld things. I’m a little bit of a hybrid artist.”
