Na olimpijskem programu od / Part of the Olympic programme since: Žogica pri namiznem tenisu leti s hitrostjo tudi do 180 km/h z rotacijo do 151 vrtljajev na sekundo in je danes eden najbolj razširjenih športov po svetu, tako tekmovalno kot rekreativno. Igralci uporabljajo razliãne udarce npr. “the Hit” – udariti, poriniti in pa tehnike igre “the Chop” – zrezati, sekljati, nekateri pa so znani po tem, da “ubijajo” v igri; imajo t.i. “Killer instinct”. Ne glede na ta znaãaj pa je namizni tenis postal del programa olimpijskih iger leta 1988 v Seulu. The ball at table tennis can reach 180 km/h with up to 151 rotations per second and it is one of the most widespread sports in the world, both competitively and recreationally. The players use different strokes e.g. “the Hit” – hit, push and techniques “the Chop” – cut, slice, but some players are famous for “killing” in the game; they have a so called “Killer instinct”. However, irrespective of this nature table tennis has been part of the Olympic programme since 1988 in Seoul.
