Maya Margvelashvili Doctor of Economics, Ivane Javakhishvili TSU Full Professor Georgia, Tbilisi Stages of Tourism Economic Impact Study Summary Conducted research was focused on the basic elements of tourism economic impact analysis. The research gives the overview of the factors necessary to be considered in the problem identification stage of economic impact study. Input-Output model was considered as the most comprehensive model, and using this model the study of tourism contribution to the State of South Carolina economy for 2010 was conducted.

Efforts to conduct the similar study in Georgia were unsuccessful, because of total absence of any economic parameters of tourism. As a result it became impossible to compare tourism economic impacts of South Carolina and Georgia. Finally, the conclusions were worked out and corresponding recommendations were offered.
