Off the Wall Gallery at Dirty Frank’s 8TH ANNUAL JURIED EXHIBITION

INSPIRATION?
Off the Wall Gallery’s 8th Annual Juried Exhibition asks, WHAT’S YOUR INSPIRATION? This show seeks outstanding art that captures your take on what inspiration is, and how it plays out in your artwork from various points of view. Framing questions include: Can you show us where you draw inspiration from when creating art? Does your art convey the act of inspiration or a moment of inspiration? Do you believe your art can inspire others to think differently or take action? We will give added weight to entries that connect to larger topics, such as creativity, spirituality or personal transformation. Through November 8, 2012, we are accepting submissions in all media — 2D, 3D or multimedia — that meet two size requirements: work must be no larger than 48 inches in combined dimensions (height + width) when framed and 2D work cannot be heavier than 15 pounds. ”

Images for jurying must be supplied on disc only, together with a when framed list of titles, framed dimensions, media, prices, a statement and an entry fee of $5 per work. The jury will accept artists based primarily on the quality of the work as presented electronically and its relevance to the show’s theme. No entries of actual work will be accepted in any case whatsoever.
DEADLINES & KEY DATES
Failure to meet the deadlines listed below can result in rejection of accepted pieces and forfeiture of prizes. All shipping and transportation costs are the responsibility of the artist or any parties acting on behalf of the artist.
Thursday, November 8, 2012 A complete entry, including digital images, a list of titles, media, framed sizes and prices, as well as a statement to the jury explaining how your work relates to the theme, must be received on CD by 12 midnight at Dirty Frank’s with sufficient cash payment for all entries ($5 per work).
Wednesday, November 21 If your entry is accepted, you will be notified by e-mail on or before this date, at which time you will receive all contractual and logistical information.
Saturday, December 1 Physical work must be delivered wired and ready to hang/install at Off the Wall Gallery (NE Corner, 13th & Pine Streets, Philadelphia) between 10 a.m. and 12 noon.
Thursday, December 6 The Opening Reception will take place from 7 to 10 p.m., including the announcement of up to $500 in cash awards, made at the jury’s discretion. The Mary-Rowe Memorial Best of Show Award winner will be invited to headline the 2013 Autumn Invitational.
Saturday, December 29 The exhibition closes; all unsold work must be picked up between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., or it will go into paid storage (fees begin at $40 per work).
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO
You may submit as many works as you wish at $5 per work. Jurying will take place from digital images on CD. The following criteria apply to all submissions:
Size your images properly. Please submit 72 ppi jpegs resampled to 1000 pixels on the longest dimension. And please limit each file to one megabyte or less. Title your images clearly, with names that make sense and correspond to actual titles. Include all the information we need (so we don’t have to return to you with questions!): titles, framed dimensions, media, prices and a statement connecting your work to the theme. Please note that we retain all files, on the assumption that the CD on which the digital images have been submitted is not unique in any way and does not need to be returned.
SALES
The artist understands and agrees that all work exhibited is for sale. Prices must be clearly stated and cannot be changed after acceptance. Off the Wall will encourage sales and will retain a 30-percent commission on all work sold.
Acceptance and any jury awards will become null and void if the Gallery deems the artist is not acting in the best faith. We will take into account failure to submit accurate information, late delivery, work not matching the submission or not wired and ready to hang, and deviations from agreed-upon pricing or policy.

DELIVERY & MAILING INSTRUCTIONS

Most entries are dropped off. To do so, come to Dirty Frank’s between 11 a.m. and 1:45 a.m. (last call) seven days a week. Entries received after last call at the end of Thursday, November 8, 2012 will not be accepted under any circumstances. Please remit cash payment with your entry. Direct any and all questions to offthewallgallery@gmail.com. Art not sold during the exhibition must be picked up only on Saturday, December 29 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., unless prior arrangements have been made. A $40-per-month storage fee will automatically apply to each work not picked up accordingly.

Off the Wall Gallery does not carry insurance on exhibited work. By submitting this entry, you are accepting the following standard ‘Waiver of Liability’ statement included in all Off the Wall artist contracts: I, the submitting artist, understand that neither the management nor any employee or volunteer of Dirty Frank’s Bar or Off the Wall Gallery is responsible for any damage to work while participating in this exhibition.
