THE ISLE OF BRIMSKER

“It’s 1986. I am eight years old. Prince Andrew and Fergie get married in the summer. Dirty Den serves Angie divorce papers on Christmas Day. And I’m sharing my bedroom with a KitKat-pinching ghost.”

Inspired by his favourite film, little Gareth became a self-appointed Ghostbuster, launching an investigation into a playful poltergeist. Now, three decades later, with the help of home videos, retro toys and interviews with his nearest and dearest, grown-up Gareth is determined to uncover what was really going on inside his very own haunted house. Join us for a nostalgic trip back to the 80s and a comic exploration of a childhood haunting where nothing is quite what it seems. Do you ever get confused or overwhelmed by politics?
Do you ever feel like the only way to make a difference is to change everything? Do you ever think that if you can’t change everything immediately there’s no point trying? Luca reached a point where thinking about politics made her want to lie down on the pavement and not get up. Instead of doing this she is throwing a party. A political party. There will be drinks, dancing and eggs! No experts. No big words. This is a show about getting messy with the messiness of politics. Highly anticipated debut from the host of BBCR4’s Comedy of the Week podcast. Elise is called pretty the same amount of times as being called sir in an average week.

Box Office: 01332 59 39 39

If Elise had £1 for every time someone has asked ‘Are you the best man?’ then Elise would have £2. Elise is often asked, ‘Are you a boy or a girl?’ the answer to this question is: No. An honest, moving and hilarious show exploring non-binary gender using Elise’s real life experiences.

PINK LEMONADE

FRIDAY 1 MARCH, 8PM Pink Lemonade is a multi-disciplinary solo show exploring masculinity and lesbianism in Black women, partly inspired by the rebellious butches of the early 20th Century and beyond. Fusing spoken word, sound and movement, the work examines how from childhood through to our intimate relationships as adults, social, racial and cultural stigmas can impact the way communities view themselves and others. Pink Lemonade aims to deconstruct micro-aggressions within the framework of intersectionality and seeks to transform the discourse around the fetishism of Black and Brown bodies.
