Long-time high school and collegiate coach Mike Goebbel joined the Ohio Dominican staff last year and returns for the 2012 campaign, where he will be responsible for coaching the tight ends. Goebbel has 40 years of coaching experience under his belt, including 14 years as a head coach at the high school level. After working as a graduate assistant at Ohio State for two years, Goebbel had head coaching stints at Cardington-Lincoln, Hilliard and Marion Harding High Schools before working as an assistant at both Dublin Coffman High School and Ohio Wesleyan University. After spending several years as the offensive coordinator at Thomas Worthington High School, Goebbel spent three seasons as a scout for the Montreal Alouettes in the Canadian Football League before serving as the head coach at Cape Coral High School in Florida. Coaching and athletic administration runs in the Goebbel family, as all three of his sons – Todd, Kyle and Aaron - are involved in one or the other. Todd is ODU’s offensive coordinator, Kyle coaches football at Olentangy High School and Aaron is the associate athletic director at Marshall University. Goebbel, who grew up in Columbus and attended Eastmoor Academy, resides in Westerville with his wife Karen, who works for the Olentangy School District.

Scott McIntire enters his second year as ODU’s offensive line coach. Last year, the offensive line helped guide the Panthers to the third-best scoring total in the GLIAC, averaging 31.9 points per game, and ODU was also the third-best rushing offense in the conference and 27th in the nation at 211.7 yards per game. The Panthers rewrote the school rushing record book last year as the offensive line remained intact for all 11 game. McIntire spent 29 years as a high school football coach, leading his team to 11 conference championships and 11 playoff appearances. He was the head coach at Grove City High School for five years, leading the Greyhounds to a pair of postseason trips and an Ohio Capital Conference Central Division crown. He also served as the offensive coordinator at Grove City for 17 years, where he coached Derek Combs, the 1996 Mr. Football recipient who went on to play with Ohio State, the Oakland Raiders and the Green Bay Packers. Eight offensive linemen earned All-Ohio accolades under his tutelage as well. McIntire then spent three seasons as the offensive line coach at Capital University from 2008-10, helping the Crusaders to become one of the most prolific offenses in the OAC during that stretch. McIntire graduated from Muskingum College in 1979, where he played football with ODU assistant coach Jack Ruetty.
