BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA

100TH ANNIVERSARY

Dear Scouting Friend, On behalf of the Orange County Council, Boy Scouts of America, volunteers, staff, Scouts, and the MERIT Gala committee, I would like to invite you to participate in our Council’s 100th anniversary and The MERIT Gala celebration. The MERIT Gala commemorates 100 years of providing Orange County’s youth adventure, exploration, innovation, and the skills needed to prepare, implement, lead, mentor, and be part of a team. OCBSA programs and properties serve over 50,000 of our community’s youth each year. For a nominal cost to a family, valuable life skills can be developed while achieving fun goals in a positive environment. Studies show a child’s involvement in Boy Scouts opens up new opportunities and interests that expand their horizons. Our vastly diverse and talented group of volunteer Scout Masters mentor, encourage, and teach. Our Orange County youth feel empowered and confident while simultaneously creating lifelong memories. Boy Scouts of America’s extensive research, cutting edge infrastructure, five-star facilities and properties, and groundbreaking programs pave the way for our next 100 years! The MERIT Gala’s goal is to support new innovative youth programs designed for the future here in our own community. We want to continue to expand our program, keep costs to families down, and provide more scholarship opportunities. With your generous support, the funds raised from our 100th Anniversary Gala will kick off the next century on behalf of Orange County’s youth. Thank you in advance from all of us at the Orange County Council, Boy Scouts of America for your contribution to The MERIT Gala’s success. I look forward to meeting you at the Gala!

100TH ANNIVERSARY

MERIT GALA MISSION The Orange County Council is pleased to host the 100th Anniversary MERIT Gala on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Hotel Irvine. This will be the biggest OCBSA event of the year, attracting over 600 Orange County residents, business leaders, and Scouting supporters for an evening of Scouting tradition and gala festivities. Just here in Orange County, Scouting and its four high-adventure properties enrich families in our community by serving more than 50,000 youth each year. For almost 100 years, Scouting has created future leaders and innovators by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun and adventure in the outdoors. As OCBSA embarks into its next 100 years, we look to fundraising to help us meet our growing demands. Securing underwriting, sponsorships and auction items is critical to the MERIT Gala’s revenue goal. As the MERIT Gala’s sponsors and donors are investing in Orange County’s future leaders, we thank you for your consideration to join these efforts.
