“Photoshop has completely changed the way we now think about structure in our office. I mean... it changed about two/three years ago, suddenly we had these interns coming in and they were redefining our understanding of what was possible. They could literally shave it out of the drawings and shave it out of the cost.

I was just standing there and then this thing just jumped out at me.

This is about a strategy for discovering an architecture. A personal architecture drawn from a well of inner-consciousness and memory, shaped from subjective reactions toward objective events, constructed by methods knowingly and unknowingly layered in personal idiosyncrasies and hidden hypocrisies and applied in imperfect ways by imperfect tools. Then, to which this creation results in an essence, it is as multiple and as absolute as anything. It is both a failed materialization of the imagination and a perfectly conclusive object on which other projections stand to play out.

of time in seconds that the video lasts. I then divide this number by 60 - the number of seconds in a minute - and then again by 60 - the number of minutes in an hour - and then by 24 (for the hours) and by 365 (for the days) - until I arrive at the number of years it would take one person to watch the video continuously to match the cumulative time that the video has been played

Take, for example, a popular online video. There is something I like to do when I come across a popular online video. I take the number of views the video is purported to have received (often located in the lower right hand corner of the screen) and multiply it by the length of time in seconds that the video lasts. I then divide this number by 60 - the number of seconds in a minute - and then again by 60 the number of minutes in an hour - and then by 24 (for the hours) and by 365 (for the days) - until I arrive at the number of years it would take one person to watch the video continuously to match the cumulative time that the video has been played by many. For example, the video on YouTube by the band One Direction is 3 minutes and 27 seconds long, it has been watched 125,848,678 times; this is equivalent to one person watching that video continuously for a little more than 826 years.

Their idea was to dispose of both google image searching and Rhino 3d drafting They had been clutching to them so closesly that there was very little scope to see new things. Myopia had set in.

Magic is hyper-organic because magic about not being able to find the it.

Every building has a bathroom, every person has a body. The bathroom is the primordial index of human activity, architecture’s mimetic dance with the human body. Inside these rooms, there is just your body and architecture, your body and the room-that-is-not-yourbody. The mechanic functions of your bodily are flipped inside out, adhered to the walls. Imagine two curves: Curve A, on this surface delineating the edge at which your body stops, and Curve B, the curve along the border where the building begins. Curve A and B, just barely touching, or thinking about barely touching. For every input, there is an output. The toilet, so you can eject out the remains of last night’s dinner with friends. The bath, where the building cradles your body. The sink, so you can wash the world off of your hands and face. The mirror, so you can step outside your being and look at your body, the way that the building looks at you. Bowels to toilet, body to bath, skin to sink, eyes to toilet. After your pause -- because after all, you are visiting, just for moments at a time -- you will exit the bathroom, the singular point of the architecture that reassures you of your bodily nature. “All social life is essentially practical. All mysteries which lead theory to mysticism find their rational solution in human practice and in the comprehension of this practice.” -Theses on Feuerbach, Karl Marx
