Since the establishment of this change to the constitution and the growing pressure of the international community to create environmental policy and regulation, Argentina has been much more forthcoming with environmental policies and legislation. Law 24.051 places the control and monitoring of hazardous waste under the federal government’s jurisdiction, adopting the “cradle to grave” system of monitoring the hazardous material at its various stages of production and disposal, and mandates the national registration and assumed liability of all parties involved in the production, collection, and disposal of this waste. Law 25.688 places control over the environmental regulation of bodies of water under national jurisdiction as well, delineating distribution of duties in environmental protection and legislation creation to the different levels of government within the nation. Law 20.284, also known as the Argentina Clean Air Act, mandates that the federal government establish national standards for air quality within the nation (Parravicini). While such legislation as this shows that Argentina is making steps forward in protecting its environment from the many forms of pollution and destruction that ravage it, much of this
