OUT OF THE ETHERS, a solo exhibition of selected works by P.C. Turczyn on view from October 9 - December 04, 2015, Quantum theory teaches us that the universe is comprised of light and sound vibrations (waves) structured in shapes and forms found in all of nature through golden mean proportions, Fibonacci spirals, platonic solid constructions, crystal structures, and so forth. Each geometric framework acts as an interface between the visible and invisible world. The harmony and balance of this inherent absolute order was studied and revered by our ancient mathematicians, philosophers and mystics who recognized that our world is governed by an unseen force — a Sacred Geometry. Their acknowledgement that in these intricate designs, deeper meanings of the interconnectedness and union in all life can be inferred, aids the individual to viscerally comprehend one's place in the consciousness of the universe. P.C. Turczyn's body of work is based on the philosophies of sacred geometry as expressed in nature, sound and intention. Her paintings emerge from meditations, prayer, dreams and synchronicity, in which each piece is imbued with vibratory codes. OUT OF THE ETHERS opens with selected works from the Reification and Nada Brahma series and ends with the Infinite Qualities series, where the full utilization of the mathematical constructs from the previous series are implemented in her swirling, bold, floral mandalas. The REIFICATION series paintings employ metal leaf tinted in seven tones symbolizing the 7 vibrations of the universe, or the 7 chakras. The black background represents the Void (from which everything arises) or in the spiritual sense, the Shadow (lack of awareness).

The NADA BRAHMA & SACRED GEOMERTY series are built with numerous layers of water based resin interspersed with gold leaf, powdered bronze, mica and pigment. In some cases, such as Maelstrom, based on the logarithmic spiral, mother-of -pearl, abalone and crystals are integrated into the work.

The INFINITE QUALITIES series came about in answer to two questions: "How can my work benefit the greatest number of people?" and "How can visual art support the healing process?" Applying the results of studies conducted by Evidence-Based Design (EBD) research, indicating that nature motifs give the greatest benefit to hospital patients, Turczyn's vibrant botanical mandalas, rendered in gouache and hand applied metallic ink or metal leaf, contain and convey the energy signature of a given theme (compassion, love, hope, etc.). The use of breath, sound, music, movement, dance, writing, prayer and meditation gave support to the embodiment of the project’s theme where somatic cues act as a touchstone during the development of the artwork. Each mandala illustrates a quality essential to wellbeing and a focal point for contemplation, enabling the viewer to bypass the verbal centers of the brain and allow direct access to peace. Furthermore, this series incorporates sound activations (played throughout the run of the show) and mantras that transmit healing energy.
