Striving to Give Back, the Mario D. Bailey Foundation held it’s First Annual Family Feast, which was served in observance on Thanks Giving Day, in Seattle, WA. Many came from all walks of life to donated time, food, & funding to provide a warm “Just Like Home” experience for all to share. Green Solution was proud to participate, as we broke county lines to define community, as those in whom we commune with.
Green Solution Members & Friends collected 420 nonperishable items which were donated to the Puyallup Food Bank, (PFB). PFB has been feeding our Neighbors & Community Since 1972. In October 2012, PFB was able to feed over 1,600 families. In the Month of November, GS is grateful to be the Helping Touch To Our Community.
Randy S. Nalder E-4, born 1 of 13 siblings, enlisted into the Army at age 17 1/2. After 15 months of service & 11 months of that time spent in Vietnam, Nalder returned home in 1970. “Tho the land itself was beautiful,” Randy described, “the memories of what transpired, was not” Diagnosed with what we understand today as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), unable to sleep & due to adverse to the side effects of prescribed medications, Nalder was among the first of many American Veterans to discover the medical benefits of Medical Marijuana (MMJ). Washington’s medical Cannabis industry has emerged as the premier within the country, with people looking to the Evergreen State for ideas and inspiration to spread mmj. We are also one of just two states to be the first to license and regulate recreational Cannabis use! While our readers know that we opposed I-502 for multiple reasons, the people have spoken, and along with you, we are excited to see what the future holds. This month’s issue digs into the new laws, and how they will (or won’t) affect patient’s lives (look to your right). We also have a sweet gift guide for the patient in your life, and some holiday recipes for making the perfect holiday a little bit better. There’s also new access reviews, including a charming farmer’s market and a new Tacoma collective with a good heart. This month also features a striking photo essay that looks into the life of Stewart McDonald, a 64-year-old patient using Cannabis for a multitude of reasons. It is an eye-opening look into the world of the truly “average” patient, and gives real perspective to why Cannabis is such great medicine. barely legal >>What patients need to know about living in an I-502 world
Does I-502 affect my current authorization or possession limits? No. Medical marijuana laws remain unchanged under I-502. This means that RCW 69.51A is still the law of the land in regards to medical Cannabis. Patients can still grow up to 15 plants and possess 24 ounces of usable medicine.
Do I STILL need my authorization to get pot at access points? Yes. Without a valid authorization you will not be able to obtain medicine from access points. All non-patients will need to wait until the state-licensed stores pop-up in a year or more to obtain that legal bud.
Can I medicate in public now that pot is “legal?”
WHEN will the new stores be open?
No. Doing so will violate both medical marijuana law and I-502. It could still result in a civil infraction in the city of Seattle, or istronger charges in other counties. The only completely legal place for patients as well as recreational users to use Cannabis is in the privacy of their own home. That means no smoking in city parks, outside of bars or in the back row at a concert. Public display of marijuana is also still not allowed, so don’t show what you picked up to your buddies if you want to ensure you’re within the law.
It will take time, that’s for sure. Under I-502, Washington has ‘til Dec. 1, 2013 to establish a licensing scheme and program for establishing the stores. Given how slowly Olympia works, expect to see the first stores late 2014 at the very earliest.
How long after smoking pot can i legally drive? Wait an hour or more for every half-gram you smoke to give your body time to chill. The legal maximum under I-502 is 5ng/ml but that’s a threshold a few tokes will makes you surpass for hours.
What happens if I get pulled over and I have cannabis in the car and/or have been using it recently? According to Seattle Police, the scent of marijuana in your vehicle alone will not be probable cause for a search, sobriety test and/ or blood test. However, this almost certainly will not be the case outside of Seattle. It is extremely important that patients and recreational users not smoke/medicate in their vehicles, and to keep medicine in a sealed environment where the odor cannot be detected by an officer. Definitely put everything into your trunk.
Now can i share my medical pot with recreational users?
Does the zero tolerance for recreational users in I-502 apply to medical patients under the age of 21?
No. State MMJ law does not allow you to share your medical Cannabis with nonpatients. Doing so is a crime under RCW 69.51A and I-502.
Though this has yet to be tested in court, it appears police could potentially arrest MMJ patients who are underage. Normally this would be something to call the ACLU about, but they’re the people who helped fuel this arbitrary law’s passing. Same goes for the DUI limit on patients. If you are a minor Cannabis patient it is extremely important to use discretion and tact about when/where you medicate, and who you inform about your patient status.
CAN I DEFEND A POT DUI IF I’M MEDICAL? No. As of Dec. 6th the DUI component of I-502 is considered “per se,” meaning that anyone (patient or non-patient) who is found driving with over 5ng/ ml of active THC in their bloodstream will be automatically guilty of DUI, regardless of impairment. You do not get to defend this. It’s the most disturbing aspect of I-502, making it vital for patients to use discretion when medicating and driving at some point in the future. Never smoke in a vehicle.
Will my local access point still be open after the State stores open? This is a gray area, but probably. Patients will still need access to quality medicine and personal treatment, something the State will not provide. People will still want to become patients because it offers more protection from the law, better possession limits, and the ability to cultivate your own medicine.

regon has more than 50,000 medical Cannabis patients. Just 52 of them are under age 18 according to The Oregonian. Take the story of Mykayla Comstock, diagnosed last year with T-Cell Leukemia. She is seven years old. Leukemia is the most common form of cancer for children, afflicting 3,800 annually. Two times every day, she ingests a capsule containing a half gram of Rick Simpson Oil; if the pain from her chemo is especially bad, she’ll nibble on a slice of medicated banana bread. Her mother, skeptical of traditional medicine, and well-experienced in the powerful use of Cannabis as medicine, knew Mykayla would need something to treat her severe nausea and chronic pain. “It helps me eat and sleep,” Mykayla said. “The chemotherapy makes you feel like you want to stay up all night long.” The Oregon Medical Marijuana

Program was approved by voters 14 years ago, and, today, fifteen out of every 1,000 people in Oregon have been authorized to use medical Cannabis. Once a child has been authorized to use medical Cannabis, the state puts parents in charge of their treatment regiment. Dosage, frequency and the ingestion method are all up to the parent’s discretion. There is concern that Cannabis may affect intellect, memory and attention spans in developing minds, but most research on brain activity and Cannabis use has been limited to adults. Doctors are reticent to recommend Cannabis for young people, who they say can be treated with traditional pain medications. But the case is clear for Mykayla and her mother’s boyfriend, Brandon Kenzler, who helps raise her. “She has never asked for a pain pill,” he said. “We’re not going to stop what works.”

lorida stockbroker Irvin Rosenfeld celebrated an unusual kind of anniversary last month. The 60-year-old has now officially received and smoked joints delivered to his home by the United States federal government for 30 years. Rosenfeld receives 300 joints a month in a large metal cannister. He said he smokes 10 to 12 of the low-potency joints every day, and, over 30 years, has gone through more than 120,000 of them. “Even though I have a severe bone tumor disorder, I am in great health because of my cannabis use,” Rosenfeld said. “The sad part is that the federal government either doesn’t care or does not want to know how well I am.” If you’re scratching your head, thinking ‘wait, the government will give you pot?’ you could be forgiven. Back in 1978, the feds tried out a program called the
Compassionate Care Investigational New Drug protocol. The goal was to see how pot affected people with chronic illnesses over the course of their life, however the program was discontinued under President H.W. Bush. Fewer than two-dozen were ever enrolled. Rosenfeld is the longest surviving member of the group grandfathered into the program. Across the country, 18 states and the District of Columbia have legalized medicinal use of Cannabis, and more could be on the way. Ultimately, Rosenfeld, author of My Medicine: How I Convinced the U.S. Government to Supply My Marijuana and Helped Launch a National Movement, has emerged over the years as one of the plant’s best advocates. “I am living proof that medical cannabis works.”

The show will focus on a corporate attorney forced to quit his job after a nervous breakdown — who becomes an unexpected spokesman for the “legalize it” campaign in California. There, medical use of Cannabis is legal though recreational use is not. Colorado and Washington just made recreational use legal under certain conditions, and it is against this backdrop that the show takes place. Wahlberg’s production partners, Rob Weiss and Steve Levinson, last worked together on Entourage and How to Make It In America.

Argosy Cruises Director of Marketing Maureen Black told The Northwest Leaf that private charter boats are inspected and licensed for use by the Coast Guard, a federally funded agency. “Smoking is banned on charter boats. The Coast Guard patrols the waters and we have to make sure we are inline with federal guidelines,” Black said in a phone interview from her Seattle office. With the tourism industry reaching almost every aspect of our local economy, Washington’s local business owners can expect an increase in Cannatourism as soon as the new laws take effect. With the re-election of President Obama, there may be a good chance that we could see Cannabis being rescheduled in his next term. Between the increasing, wide-ranging support for Cannabis legalization in every recent poll, and voters initiatives changing state laws through the will of the people, federally, it’s just going to be a matter of time until Cannabis is descheduled and completely legal like alcohol. Then America would once again be known for something with a positive reputation, something better than Romney, guns and obesity. Who knows? America, The Cannabis Capitol of the World, sounds pretty good to our ears.

ver the river and through the woods might get you to Grandma’s, but a 30-minute drive from Seattle down state Route 169 is just as scenic, leading straight to Washington’s newest Cannabis market. MMJ Universe is the establishment’s catchy name, though it might feel like a different galaxy after you leave the city for a country Cannabis market full of medicated samples and dabs. The market sits on 11 acres of private and scenic land that has undergone a major transformation, turning an empty and lonely greenhouse into a bustling market for a new product. “It’s almost like coming full circle,” said Deidre Finley, who ran a custom-order nursery before founding MMJ Universe. “It was meant to be a nursery for ornamental plants. Now it’s a new plant, but it feels good.” Walking around the property is a calming

and euphoric experience. Ornate white trestles border a koi pond, several greenhouses and a building that serves as the new home of The Kind Alternative, which left its previous location in Preston because of zoning issues. The owners were left without a storefront for several months. The Black Diamond location has given new energy to the collective and the patients in need of medicine. The collective is open Sunday through Friday, and then participates in the market on Saturdays. For an area such as Black Diamond, having MMJ access seven days a week is a monumental change. “We are literally surrounded by moratoriums,” explained Deidre. “But here we are in unincorporated King County in an area so private that most locals don’t even know we are here.”
While the facility is not visible from the highway, it’s only about a minute away from the highway on Green Valley Road. There’s parking for roughly 30 vehicles inside the gates, with spillover spots out on the road. The property is secure while still being comfortable, and the facility, which complies with the Americans with Disability Act, is easy to navigate. Patients check in at the front office to get verified, and then head out to the greenhouse for market days or into the Kind Alternative on the other days. “This has been a perfect fit,” Deidre said, describing the transition from nursery to market. “It reminds me so much of the early nursery days. Everybody’s happy.” At the height of business in 2007, the nursery supported 30 employees. Now sliding the transparent glass greenhouse doors reveals business of a different form. With 15 to 20 vendors on an average Saturday, the market supports their expenses for gardening while connecting many patients to locally cultivated medicine. “Everybody is serviced here. The growers, the medible makers, especially the patients.
It’s a nice symbiotic feel,” Deidre said. The undeniable feeling of excitement lingers in the greenhouse air, with live guitar music punctuated by frequent laughter and friendly pot jargon. With such happy vendors, it’s impossible not to have a good time. “It’s a wonderful environment,” said Leslie McKenzie, the representative for Sativa Valley topicals. McKenzie’s packed table had samples of various balms and lotions, offering patients a way to medicate without smoking. She has high praises for the market, and the woman behind it. “Deidre is a very progressive woman in the Cannabis industry. We need more like her.”

ircling the greenhouse might seem like a five-minute walk, but be prepared for a solid hour of information and new products. Starting at the back, a bar is set up with quality ISO extracts. Indicare Collective has a regular table with its Blue Dream BHO as well as its White Gold strain flower, which is delightfully skunky and cheesy but smokes like smooth candy. Emerald Lotus keeps its Volcano vaporizer running almost constantly, sampling out strains that include C4, Garlic and a chunky strain called Mendocino. “We are really happy to be here,” said Ruth of Emerald Lotus. “It is a newer market, but it’s catching on. With nice people and a nice location, it’s only a matter of time before patients find it.”

A new collective has opened on Tacoma’s Pacific Avenue that combines the spirited elements of bygone Cannabis times with a modern overture to medical Cannabis. From the outside, the only visible sign of medicine or the underlying culture is the Eye of Horus that’s painted in green on a window, seemingly winking at patients as they arrive. Inside the glass doors is a comfortable and professional access point called Ancient Medicine. “We chose the name because we wanted to pay homage to the old traditions of medicine and Cannabis use,” said manager Matt Freet. “I believe that this is ancient medicine. It’s been used since the dawn of time.” The Eye of Horus also has special meaning for the collective. It’s an ancient Egyptian symbol of protection, royal power and good

health. But modern science has shown that it also is an outline of a crosssection of a human brain, with the specific areas of the brain represented within the eye. “The eye of Horus represents the part of the brain that develops our senses,” said Thomas, a volunteer at the collective. “It also matches well with Cannabis. Those are the areas of the brain most affected by the medicine.” While the entire body is affected by Cannabis, much of the pleasurable and healing affects are noticed within the brain. For many patients, finding the right strain and matching it to a desired effect is difficult. Ancient Medicine doesn’t have that problem. Flowers are tested for potency by some serious budtenders and by a high performance liquid chromatography machine.

“For me, it’s about Cannabinoid research,” Matt said. “It’s about finding strains to meet patients’ needs. We are a lot smaller than some collectives but we make up for it with our knowledgeable staff and quality medicine.” From the patient’s perspective, knowing the medicine makes a huge difference. Inside Ancient Medicine, patients find a wide selection, with THC and cannabidiol (CBD) ranges all over the board and results for cannabichromene (CBC) and cannabigerol (CBG) posted. But without knowing the results, a patient might skip over this strain and choose something based solely on looks or other characteristics that would prove useless toward finding the correct medicine. “We see this industry evolving,” Matt said, standing near the front desk. “Patients are demanding more from collectives. The creator of the strain, Matthew Gordon, said he struggles with roughly 80% short term memory loss due to temporal swelling. It was a long plane ride. I Was stuck between two grown men in a small and uncomfortable seat in excess of nine hours. We left Sea-Tac around 1:20 p.m. and arrived in Amsterdam after 7 a.m. the next day. We left the airport and found the train wasn’t working, so we rode the bus into town. We walked to Leidseplein, a busy square in Amsterdam, and entered our first coffee shop: the Bulldog. Since 1975, the Bulldog has been open to the public for people to buy and smoke Cannabis. A bouncer stood out front and checked our identifications, then we walked inside to a glass window where a lady stood with an open menu of strains and hashish to inspect. Among the choices on the menu were Cheese, Amnesia Haze, Bubblegum, White Widow,

Thai and Jamaican. I asked for her preference, and she guided me toward a strong-smelling and sticky Cheese. After our purchase, she gave us a free gram of an unknown strain. The vibe there was nice. People from around the world spoke in several languages as American doowop music from the 1950s played. The Cheese was perfect. We loaded it in our pipe they let us use and the flavor of the smoke was so smooth and clean it really put my head in a nice place. After the Cheese, I tried the Unknown strain. It was piney and tropical – it almost reminded me
of some sort of Dutch treat. We continued walking around town and found our hostel. We went into the bar and relaxed for a while before continuing to go about the city to see its wonders. Eventually, we came to the Victoria hotel where the High Times bus was supposed to pick us up. The bus was at least two hours late so our friend in line, Brother John from New York, helped us get on the tram to go to the Roest Expo. The expo was in an industrial area -- it didn’t look as though any party could be happening there, but sure enough, we started seeing the High Times sign. Inside, it was unbelievable. It was a building about the size of a football field full of people from all over the world. Cali Connection, Big Buddha Seeds and DNA all had the biggest booths. There were people all along the sides up top smoking and looking down at the rest of the attendees. At the seminars lounge Danny Danko opened the Cannabis Cup with a cultivation seminar featuring Scott from Rare Dankness Seeds and Swerve from Cali Connection. Wernard Bruining then discussed his version of Rick Simpson oil which was actually a tincture that used Cannabis infused Olive Oil. Steve Hager founder of High Times Cannabis Cup welcomes the judges and conducts opening ceremonies. Robert Connel Clarke hosted an open forum discussion covering the evolutionary history and modern taxonomy of cannabis. The expo closed at 8pm and everyone crowded onto the different Cannabus’ to get dropped back off at the Victoria Hotel. As the bus started up the bus driver came on the intercom and said “buckle up; it’s going to be a wild ride” of course there were no seat belts and the driver continued driving with the door open letting the smoke and the volume of the music leak out onto the streets by all the pedestrians walking by. The bus was quite a sight to see for any people passing by. Everyone I’ve met has just been incredibly friendly and welcoming. Amsterdam is a great place for an event like this. It’s too bad this could be its last year.

I woke up cold and realized I was still lying on my blanket folded up like a pillow. Alcohol from the night before was making me nauseated, so I went downstairs into the Bulldog to get breakfast. I could barely eat any food and continued to feel sick most of the day. We left our dorm room and started walking around the cold, foggy city, still half asleep at 11 a.m. We went to a coffee shop, but I was feeling so sick I forgot to remember the name. I got my first piece of space cake there and a 7–Up. Then I threw up in a garbage can. I proceeded to roll a joint of Super Lemon Haze from Coffee Shop Highway 99, where it was 15 euros for 1 gram. After smoking the joint, I felt much better and we continued to travel about the city. The Bulldog Hostel, where I stayed, is in the Red Light District. Everyone has been so friendly, and many of the people who are staying at the Bulldog are here to attend the cup. It’s a great place to meet other people who are all united for the same purpose. It’s interesting to be able to talk to someone from another part of the world who can appreciate Cannabis as much as we do here in Washington. Lots of people congratulate me for being from Washington because of I-502. Actually, Washington and Colorado have been mentioned lots at this year’s Cup. The expo opened at 12 pm and we made our way over via the cannabus.
Every time on the bus it’s a new experience. I got to meet lots of interesting people from all over the world as we conversed about Cannabis and passed joints, spliffs, blunts, pipes, and bubblers back and forth sharing the herb as we rode over to the expo. That’s where I heard great news. Author Nol Van Schaik discussed the future of the controversial Weed Pass of Holland and Cannabis tourism in the future. According to Schaik, the Weed Pass has been overturned and tourists will still be able to go to Amsterdam and the different coffee shops but they’ll likely become more restrictive as they institute heavier regulations here, like how much you can buy and where you can do it in public. Bubbleman did a seminar on how he does water extracted hash, and why. He definitely changed my opinion on Cannabis as well as any type of extractions containing Butane, Isopropyl, or Naptha. Swerve from Cali Connections ended the expo w/ a grow your own medicine seminar. We left at 7 pm as all the attendees headed downtown into Amsterdam to the Melkweg where the doors opened at 9:30 for a High Times show featuring Ghost Face Killah, N.O.R.E., and Dj Scram Jones.

It was my 21st birthday so I ended up skipping the expo that day as we toured Coffee Shops and collected strains to judge that had been entered into the Cannabis Cup. The Coffee Shops are really unique. They provide a nice atmosphere for people to buy weed and smoke it there as well as order Space Cakes, Coffee, smoothies and other drinks. We went to the Grey Area shop and got their Everygrey (NYCD hybrid) and their Grey Crystal (Isolator Hash). I found both to be extremely potent, well cured and very tasty. Then we visited Home Grown Fantaseeds where we got some S5 Haze and White Widow as well as a free lighter and grinder. I Also checked out El Guapo where they had Big Buddha Cheese that was incredibly flavorful. Next

Later at the seminar lounge, Mason Tvert, who was chosen Freedom Fighter of the Year, discussed the battles he waged in Colorado and addressed what’s to come for marijuana legalization in Washington and Colorado. He said he anticipates a lot more regulation and taxing. Arjan and Franco from Greenhouse seeds then discussed their plans for Greenhouse and how they plan to expand. Depending on how the laws turn out, it’s likely we might see a Greenhouse-related business here on the West Coast. They also showed a video of an outdoor garden of more than 300,000 plants of their strains. Remo the Urban Grower was also there and hosted a really informative growing seminar with all the new tricks he has learned. Then, Elise McDonough, author of the High Times Cannabis Cookbook, did a seminar showing how to create some fabulous Cannabis cuisine. We hung out a lot in the lounge, where we sat in old airplane seats at a bar that served beer and soda. Nearby, another bar across the way in an outdoor shack was serving up some pizza. Later that night, MF Doom played an incredible show.

All in all, the 25th anniversary Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam was an event to remember. I met so many awesome people from around the world, and it had a huge effect on my life and made me appreciate the benefits of Cannabis all the more.
hursday was the last day of the Expo and the buses were jammed. A big line formed at the entrance to the Expo. By the time we got in, a screen of smoke covered the crowd as people were blazing their joints and smoking their bubblers. Cali Connection was entered into the cup for best glass, best booth and best new product. Best glass was the recycler made by Contrabasso and the best product was the K.O. Domeless Nail, which is an electric vaporizer that keeps the domeless nail constantly heated. Don and Aaron had the MF Doom Mask torch tube made by Hitman. Roor was there for best glass as well and handed out lots of free tokes and dabs. In the seminar lounge, Mila, the “hash queen of Amsterdam,” discussed the value of concentrates vs. hashish and explained how unhealthful butane, ISO and naptha are to use as an extract. All contain significant levels of contaminants that can’t be removed while purifying hash oil. She
explained that you might get all the butane out of the oil but traces of compounds that can’t be broken down will be left inside the oil. She was very educated and put on an engaging seminar. Adam Dunn of T.H. Seeds presented Hemp Genesis 101, in which he discussed a lot of his growing styles and techniques and answered questions from the crowd. Steve Hager then closed the expo and everyone crowded back on to the smoky buses like a herd of cattle. Later that night, at the Melkweg, Steve Hager was introduced to the Counterculture Hall of Fame and the 25th anniversary Cannabis Cup Awards Ceremony was hosted by Ghostface Killah and N.O.R.E., feat. Styles P. and DJ Scram Jones.

“I’m fortunate that I live in a part of town where all of my neighbors know me. I don’t feel like I’m going to have a home invasion or anything like that for providing my own medicine.”
M
y biggest problem with Parkinson’s was dealing with traditional Parkinson’s medicines and the effect it has had on my life,” said Stewart McDonald, shakily reaching for a pipe to medicate. The 64-year-old Kennewick, Wash. resident takes several puffs of the homegrown Cannabis. A wave of calm comes over him. His shaking subsides. “If I don’t medicate I’m bouncing around like a ball.” Stewart has been suffering from Parkinson’s and Hepatitis C since his initial diagnosis in 2005. After struggling with traditional medications for symptoms that include tremors, chronic wasting syndrome and chronic pain, McDonald re-introduced cannabis into his medical regiment in many forms. Before he started using medical marijuana he was awakened by tremors every night, had a loss of appetite, and was unable to put on weight. He grew increasingly thin. “Without Cannabis and without the nutritional supplements that I’m taking I know I would be doing a lot worse. My weight has gone from 108 pounds to 127 and holding,” he said.

“Medical marijuana,” he added “seems to help with everything because there is a lot of side effects to both Hepatitis C and Parkinson’s. With Parkinson’s, there’s tremors, wasting loss, appetite loss, all type of bad things — and Cannabis helps inflammation, arthritis and appetite. As far as my liver goes, my liver functions have come back within normal ranges the last two blood tests. I feel better when I can use the essential oils and have enough of it around to be effective. Over the years, Stewart has taken to growing his own medicine, extracting his own oils, and cutting down the dosages of the traditionally prescribed medications to help combat his illnesses. Although taking care of numerous plants exacts a physical toll on Stewart, he is adamant about knowing where his medicine is coming from, how it’s grown and produced. “To me it’s therapeutic. It gives me something besides just everyday life to get up for. These ladies need attention, they need water,” Stewart explained. “Your health, your very health depends on this medicine.”

This easy caramel corn can be tossed with peanuts/mixed nuts, if desired.
7 qts. plain popped popcorn 2 cups dry roasted peanuts 2 cups brown sugar 1/2 cup light corn syrup 1 tsp. salt 1 cup Canna Butter 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. vanilla extract

4. Bake for 1 hour, removing the
pans, and giving them each a good stir every 15 minutes. Line the counter top with waxed paper. Dump the corn out onto the waxed paper and separate the pieces. Allow to cool completely, before storing in airtight containers or resealable Ziplock-style bags.

W
hen most people hear the word “detoxification,” they think of the Betty Ford Center or an attempt to beat a drug test. The strict medical defi nition means removing an often physiologically addictive, toxic substance from the body, and it’s associated with a withdrawal phase. However, the concept of detoxification is also one of the most widely used treatments in holistic medicine today. The idea is that illnesses can be caused by the accumulation of toxic substances in the body, which lead to higher levels of toxicity. Reducing new toxins from coming into the body and assisting the body in eliminating existing toxins is the basic goal. Detox strategies can use a variety of tests and techniques to rid the body of toxicity or they can be quite simple, such as breathing exercises. The process of detoxification is at play at all times in the body in multiple systems. In fact, as you read this article, you are detoxing! Several systems and organs are involved in

Humans are at the top of the food chain. The term bio-accumulation is used to describe how toxins are amplified from the bottom to the top of the food chain. Pesticides and herbicides are sprayed on grains that are then fed to animals. These toxic substances are stored in the fatty tissue of those animals. When humans eat the meat, they are exposed to the chemicals used along the entire agricultural chain. These toxins include heavy metals (mercury) and chemicals such as pesticides, pollutants and food additives, all of which are not made within the body. All present a challenge to breaking down and being eliminated from the body. That’s an especially good argument for consuming organically raised meats, and organic food in general. The human body has innate methods of
detoxing on its own. The body is wired to heal itself, if given the opportunity. Today, however, humans are exposed to more dangerous toxins than ever before. Toxins are in the air we breathe, the water we drink, the cars we drive and the homes we live in. Although humans are equipped with natural defenses that help us purge toxins, many individuals’ detoxification systems become overwhelmed and cannot perform the task on their own. Detoxing gives the body more opportunity for the self–healing mechanisms. Fortunately, you have many ways to help your body clean house. Detoxification methods for healing have been used for thousands of years. In ancient Greece, Hippocrates recommended fasting as a means for improving health. This fits with a fundamental modern principle of detoxification, which is to reduce exposure to all toxic substances coming into the body. Drinking enough clean water, promoting sweating through exercise and saunas, increasing dietary fiber, juicing, dry skin brushing, eating organic meats, vegetables and fruits, avoiding sugar and stopping smoking (switch to vaporizing) are basic ideas to facilitate detoxification. Detoxification can be facilitated with diet and nutritional supplements. This type of detoxification lasts from seven to 21 days, on average. Certain medical procedures can be
performed to force the issue, including chelation therapy and colonics. Seek the supervision of a medical professional who specializes in detoxification. During detoxification, some people might experience side–effects, including fatigue, malaise, acne, headaches, allergies, and cold or flulike symptoms. These reactions are part of the healing response, and are caused by temporarily increased levels of toxins in the body stemming from the elimination and cleansing process. Benefits of detoxification are largely anecdotal, consisting of personal accounts of healing without many statistics or controlled scientific experiments. However, in the holistic medical community, detoxification is an essential and widely accepted treatment for many illnesses and chronic conditions. So, support the ongoing process of detoxing your body by challenging yourself to two events yearly -- spring and fall are best. Always consult a health care practitioner before you start.

We use Floranova grow for veg. stage along with Trinity and Hygrozyme. Foliar feeding daily with Trinity, Extreme Serene and Ancient Amber until bud break in the flower room. We also spray the nutrient solution on the veg. as a foliar feed daily. As the plants root out the pints, they are transplanted into Nc-5’s and vegged in those for about two weeks. Ppm 1250 and ph 5.8. They’re then brought to the flower room for 10 weeks. Big swell from day one of flower along with Trinity and Hygrozyme. The general hydro flora bloom and flora micro are the base for the flower room Lucas formula style at a concentration of 2 pink to 1 part brown up to 1250ppm and then the organics are added 5ml /gallon. In the end of the 6th week, we cut the big swell and insert peak for final boost b4 flush. The plants get water and Trinity for the remainder of 10 to 20 days until they are cut and hung. When dry, they’re dry clipped and bagged for service.
