Claflin honored on Foundation billboard

The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Foundation has changed the billboard to feature another outstanding alum, Dr. Jim Clafl in. The billboard is on the west side of Interstate-35 about two miles south of the Kansas-Oklahoma border and can be read traveling southbound. Janet Valencia, Northwestern printing services coordinator, designed the billboard. For the fi rst six months the billboard was standing, it featured 2004 graduate Patrick Crayton. The current billboard will feature Dr. Jim Clafl in, a 1967 graduate and a 1997 Outstanding Graduate; he currently works at the Oklahoma Allergy and Asthma Clinic in Oklahoma City. Clafl in is pictured in his lab coat with a tray of medicine with a quote that reads, “Northwestern, home away from home WITH an excellent education.”

Dr. Jim Clafl in and his wife Marcee have generously donated the funds necessary to keep this billboard up and going. In August, the billboard will have been up for one year and recently the Clafl in’s decided to keep funding the billboard project for another year. “We have so many alums “We have so many alums that are that are doing incredible doing incredible things and we felt this was a things and we felt this was great way to not only promote the university a great way to acknowl- but also acknowledge the accomplishments of edge the accomplishments past, present, and future Rangers,” said Skeeter of past, present, and future Bird, Foundation executive director.
