Una pregunta en dos tiempos: ¿Qué hacer con la Revolución de Mayo? por Fabio Wasserman.... Resumen: El artículo resume una serie de trabajos dedicados a indagar las representaciones e interpretaciones sobre el proceso revolucionario que predominaron durante la primera mitad del siglo XIX. Hace énfasis en el lugar conflictivo que ocupó la Revolución de Mayo en el discurso de las elites, pues si bien tendía a ser considerada como un mito de orígenes, también se le achacaba el haber dado lugar a conflictos que impedían consolidar un nuevo orden político. A su vez, propone reflexionar críticamente sobre el lugar que ocupa la Revolución en la memoria colectiva de los argentinos y, en particular, sobre las tensiones y conflictos que se producen a la hora de realizar intervenciones en la misma desde el campo académico. Abstract: This article summarizes a series of works that investigate the representations and interpretations of the revolutionary process that predominated during the first half of the 19th century. It emphasizes the troubled place that the May Revolution occupied in the speech of the elites: though it was starting to be considered as a myth of origin, it was also taken as the origin of conflicts that prevented the consolidation of a new political order. The article also discusses the place that the Revolution occupies in the collective memory of the Argentineans and, specially, the tensions and conflicts that arise when attempting to influence that collective memory from the academic field.
