William B. Wasson, born in Arizona, arrives in Mexico William Wasson was ordained in Cuernavaca’s Cathedral Fr. Fr. Wasson brought NPH youths from Mexico to Yarnell, Arizona, to take advantage of scholarships offered in Northern Arizona. The expansion program officially became known as the English Language Learning Center.

NPH Dominican Republic opened in San Pedro de Macoris with seven children. Fr. Wasson started first medical center in Petionville, Haiti.

Fr. Wasson and life-long friend, Dr. Michael Maccoby met.

Fundraising office in France opened.

Fundraising office in Canada opened.

Fr. Wasson accepted the Franciscan International Award.

Fr. Wasson wrote “Gospel in the Dust.”

Devastating twin disasters of Haiti earthquake and cholera, created new and expanded programs in childcare, healthcare and emergency aid.

City of the Children of Matamoros, the new home in northern Mexico, opened its doors.

NPHI Family Services Fifth Annual Youth Development Conference was hosted in NPH Nicaragua. Fr. Rick Frechette, National Director of NPH Haiti, won prestigious international Opus Prize.

Fundraising office in Spain opened NPH Peru family moved to their new home in San Vicente de Cañete.

Fr. Wasson opened a home in Peru. NPH enters its 50th year of serving children. NPH International Medical Services Department was initiated.

The children of war torn El Salvador were welcomed into the NPH family. Olegario Campos is National Director.

Fr. Wasson passes away on August 16th. He is buried alongside his parents in Yarnell, Arizona, U.S. Memorials are held in all the NPH homes and all around the world.

Bolivia is the latest home to join the NPH family.

Guatemala became the third Central American country that joined the family.

The local judge continued to send Fr. Wasson boys who were incarcerated for petty crimes.

Fr. Wasson celebrated his Golden Jubilee, the 50th anniversary of his priesthood. On December 21st, Fr. Wasson celebrated his 80th birthday.

Fr. Wasson and Fr. Rick Frechette traveled to Haiti where there is an overwhelming need for a hospice and orphanage; Nos Petits Frères et Soeurs Haiti opened.

The National Caring Award was awarded to Fr. Wasson.

Fr. Wasson established an NPH home on Ometepe Island in Nicaragua.

Fr. Wasson was awarded the Luis Elizondo Humanitarian Award, a Mexican National Prize given for contribution to the children of Mexico. Fr. Wasson was the only U.S. citizen to receive this award.

Girls joined the NPH family.

Our Little Brothers and Sisters, Inc. is established in Virginia to raise funds for NPH by Frank and Polly Krafft.

The first of NPH USA (then Friends of Our Little Brothers) offices incorporated.

Fr. Wasson shared his love of learning with the pequeños, with the goal of creating future teachers.

After nine years, 396 pequeños, or little ones, made up the NPH family.

Fr. Wasson is given custody of the first boy after he was caught stealing from the church poor box because “he was hungry.”

NPH Mexico extended its reach to families in the Milpillas garbage dump. Children are bused each day & attend school at NPH, are able to shower, wear a clean uniform, have breakfast, lunch, medical & dental care.

The final move took place to San Salvador in Miacatlán. Reconstruction of dormitories, kitchen, general rooms, etc. was completed. Also the first group of students arrived in July at their new home in Monterrey to study at the university level.

Fr. William Wasson, founder of Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos,™ is ordained in Cuernavaca, Mexico and assigned to a chapel in the market.

Reinhart Koehler was named President of NPH International.
