Become a Certified Personal Trainer—ACE (Livestream) Gain practical knowledge and skills to become an entry-level fitness trainer. Learn guidelines for instructing safe and purposeful exercise, essentials of the client-trainer relationship, conducting fitness assessments, and designing exercise programming. Course materials are from the American Council on Exercise (ACE). Upon successful completion, you will receive an NMC Certificate of Completion and CPR certification, and be prepared to take the ACE national exam. The 36-hour training meets Monday-Thursday evenings for two weeks. Get More Done (Livestream) Offered in partnership with the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center, this class will review the core principles in Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity by David Allen and review technology that complements his model. Students will identify limitations of their current task management system. After learning about the five stages of mastering workflow, participants will practice the stages and learn about technology options to support the model. Get ready to start on a new path to effectiveness!

How much of your day do you spend dealing with conflict in the workplace? Studies show the average manager can spend 18-25% of their time dealing with conflict in the workplace. Practice using strategies to prevent unnecessary conflict and to build collaborative agreements between individuals or within a team. Taught by Michele Lurvey, a leadership development and team building coach who has a knack for raising individual and team positivity.
