Mid-day Meditation (Livestream) The year 2020 has brought many challenges. Are you seeking ways to tune into yourself and the world in which we live, without feeling overwhelmed? Join experienced instructor, Margaret Bennett, to learn this life changing practice. With a busy & thoughtful mind that does not like sitting still and quiet, this class will gently bring you into the space with guided meditation and other strategies that make it easier. Find clarity and calm the effects of stress on the body. Increase the benefits of this class by also enrolling in Chair Yoga which follows at 1 p.m. Come as you are; join this virtual class via Zoom, all you need is a comfortable place to sit! Gentle Yoga (Livestream) Many participants have found that yoga improves flexibility, strength, posture and balance, as well as physical and spiritual wellness. Gentle Yoga is for people of any level of physical ability who prefer a more mindful, gentle practice. Wear comfortable clothing. Chair Yoga (Livestream) Be the best version of yourself – explore your potential with yoga! With this online class, you will enjoy the benefits of the essential elements of yoga in a seated position at home. Yoga improves flexibility, posture, balance and spiritual and mental wellness. Practice a variety of yoga poses and discover the rewards of gentle stretches, postures and relaxation through breathing and meditation. All levels and abilities are welcome. Increase the benefits of this class by also enrolling in Mid-Day Meditation which precedes it at 12:15 p.m.; both are available via Zoom in the comfort of your own home. Beginning Yoga (Face to Face) What better time than now to come experience yoga – a holistic practice benefiting the body, mind and spirit. Learn basic concepts and techniques that you can incorporate to bring balance into your life. Yoga reminds us that life is a stretch on all levels - especially in the year 2020 - and regular practice builds both inner and outer strength. Wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring a blanket. Yoga for Teens: Developing an Antidote for Stress (Face to Face) (Ages 13-17) Many teens and young adults face an overwhelming load of stress; either from academics, sports, activities, friends, (this pandemic!) etc. Some are not getting enough physical exercise, and in some cases, such as varsity sports, some may be physically overworked. Finding inner peace and a happy medium is what yoga is all about at Yoga for Health Education. Designed for youth in good health who want to have fun and be challenged in a non-competitive, confidence-building and peace-building setting. No prior yoga experience necessary. Fitness Sailing (Livestream) An ABC course. Novice and experienced sailors will enjoy learning the comprehensive essentials of sailing.
