President’s Message Welcome everyone to the 2014 outdoor bowling season! With so many hosted events available over the outdoor season, it is a huge task to coordinate with all 23 lower mainland clubs, Bowls Canada and Bowls BC to minimize event conflicts and ensure that event scheduling allows for maximum participation by all V&D members. A huge vote of thanks to all the involved V&D Directors for their tremendous efforts in creating this year’s event schedule and to the Club volunteers who host the many events. Thanks also to the Directors and volunteers who put this handbook together and to the Club and commercial advertising partners who make it possible. I encourage your support of our advertisers wherever possible. As your new President, following in the footsteps of former Past President Bob Everett, and Past President Kion Wong, I have huge shoes to fill. Thanks to their efforts, I am part of a very dedicated and strong team of Directors that makes the task so much easier. I encourage you to participate in some of the events listed in this year’s handbook. There truly is something for every skill and experience level and, from personal experience, bowling with or against more experienced bowlers is one of the fastest ways to learn and to improve your game while having fun enjoying our truly great sport. I wish everyone a great season and hope to see you on the green!! David Arnott, President 3
