[ letter from the editor ] Happy New Year! As we begin another year, it is my hope that each one of you has many blessings for which to be thankful. A new year always seems to bring new opportunity. This is especially true in the wedding industry. Many of you have no doubt been surprised with a beautiful engagement ring over the holiday season and will begin the New Year as a brideto-be, planning a wedding. It is our job to provide you with all of the tools that you could possibly need to plan the wedding of your dreams. However, I have always been a strong proponent of thinking outside of the box. To that end, we consistently push the envelope regarding our bridal fashion shoots and article ideas. There are many other magazines that simply take pictures of smiling brides against floral backgrounds. In our past issues, we have featured an Alice in Wonderland inspired shoot, a Steampunk inspired shoot and this issue, a Carnivale/ Mardi Gras inspired shoot, complete with jugglers, acrobats and the like. We strive to inspire our readers by creating sophisticated and edgy photo shoots that will leave them eagerly anticipating what we will do next. Perhaps they can implement some of our
ideas into their own wedding to create a unique look or feel. If just one of our readers is compelled to use a piece of jewelry or a particular hairstyle or dress from one of our shoots, then we have succeeded. We have recently garnered attention from several national blog sites, all of which featured our photo shoots on their sites. We thought that was very cool and it proved to us that people are getting it. We are certainly on to a good thing and will continue to think outside of the box. It is very rewarding work. In this issue, we have chosen to feature the best East bank wedding venues in the New Orleans area. This article was a huge undertaking and we feel that all of our bridesto-be will benefit greatly from our exhaustive research. You simply cannot go wrong with any of these venues as they all have plenty to offer. Compare them and visit them.
