Dear Friends, The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is committed to helping people affected by MS live their best lives as we stop MS in its tracks, restore what has been lost and end MS forever. In 2014, those who donated time, talent and resources to the Wisconsin Chapter helped ensure the continuation of this commitment. If you were among them, thank you. With your assistance, college scholarships could be funded, self-help groups continued to operate and financial assistance could be given for emergency and quality-of-life needs. What’s more, with your generosity, a record-setting $50.6 million was able to be committed to MS research nationally, leading to significant research progress toward stopping MS, restoring lost function and ending MS forever. That’s incredibly important to everyone touched by MS, including the 11,000 children, women and men in Wisconsin who have been diagnosed with the disease. Ours is believed to be one of the higher prevalence rates in the nation, making your commitment to the mission all the more meaningful. This year-end progress report provides additional details and insight into the financial results from 2014 and recognizes many of the individuals who made that possible with gifts of $1,000 or more. About the National Multiple Sclerosis Society
The Society mobilizes people and resources to drive research for a cure and to address the challenges of everyone affected by MS. To fulfill this mission, the Society funds cutting-edge research, drives change through advocacy, facilitates professional education, collaborates with MS organizations around the world, and provides programs and services designed to help people with MS and their families move their lives forward. In 2014 alone, through a comprehensive nationwide network of programs and services, the Society devoted $122.2 million to assist more than one million individuals to connect to the people, information and resources they needed. To move us closer to a world free of MS, the Society also invested a record-setting $50.6 million to support more than 380 new and ongoing research projects around the world.
