Inspiration
“One day in early autumn the great mother looked down at the children playing in the sun and felt sad that winter was coming. Soon the last flowers would die, the trees loose all their leaves, the colour fade out of the world and the children and animals hide from the cold inside their homes. ‘I am going to make something new and beautiful while there is still colour everywhere’ she thought.” Our Autumn Winter 2013 collection explores the magic and mystic realism of indigenous North American spirit animals as it’s inspiration. The marriage of creativity and wearability are at the heart of the Nixie design process. This seasons modern yet timeless silhouettes are rendered in heritage wools and tweeds offset with modern jersey fabrics and vintage silks. Our colour palette is a lustrous mix of jewel bright turquoise, deepest purple, earthy orange and tan with flashes of forest green and wolf pelt grey. Nixie Clothing has a strong 'English eccentric' bohemian aesthetic. Our brand ethos is built around fair trade and eco-friendly production with an emphasis on luxury, vintage & heritage fabrics .
