Art Director Job Description This is a key position in a small consulting firm in Denver. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations and supports the company by managing artist relations and administrative functions in the office. The successful candidate will effectively coordinate all of the artwork coming in and going out of the office while keeping the artwork safe and organized. COMPANY RESPONSIBILITIES Because this is a small company, the Art Director must be comfortable handling a wide variety of tasks. Artist Relations and NDA Studio Support Artist Database • Manage online artist database (via CAFE) and internal artist database (via our server). Artist Reviews • Schedule portfolio reviews at NINE dot ARTS. • Occasional artist/gallery studio visits. Artist Liaison • Answer artist submission questions and pricing questions. • Maintain primary relationships with established artists. • Introduce the company to new artists and galleries. • Represent the company in the art community. • Attend select art openings. Project Support • The Art Director will meet with Project Managers and Consultants on a weekly basis to make sure the proper art is being brought into the office and returned to artists at the right time. • Brainstorm artist ideas for new projects and recommend artwork. • Attend client meetings and keep track of artist lists for each project. • Staging, set-up and break down artwork for client presentations. • Photograph artwork for documentation of client selections. Artwork Logistics Pick-ups and Drop-offs • Know every piece of artwork that comes into and out of the office and what project it is associated with. • Manage and maintain all artwork consignments. • Manage artist pick-ups and drop-offs for presentations and maintain the associated calendar.


Handling & Storage • Safely store all artwork on temporary hold from artists at our office. • Arrange art storage for specific projects as needed. Shipping Management • Manage general shipping needs of the company, including all artwork that needs to be shipped or received. • Manage the vendor relationships with all shipping companies. Office Administration Reception • Welcome visitors to the office. Accept deliveries, welcome clients and artists. • Help keep office neat and organized. • Answer and qualify all incoming calls. • Troubleshoot and solve client, vendor and sub-contractor issues as possible. • Pick up and route incoming mail. Operational Organization • Organize and compose office correspondence, documents and other reports. • Monitor, update and renew all insurance policies applicable to artwork in the office and general business operation • Ensure all contact lists for staff, clients, vendors and artists are maintained and updated. • Develop and implement office systems and procedures as the company continues to grow; maintain and manage server files. • Maintain day-to-day records of the company and design filing systems to ensure that these systems are up to date (vendor information, artist applications, etc.) • Participate in management meetings that are aimed at introducing new systems and policies for the overall development of the firm. Sales Support • Document initial client calls on Prospect Data Sheets. • Assist in the completion of documents required for sales presentations and committee memberships. COMPENSATION This is a salaried exempt position with paid time off, a company match savings plan and health benefits.
