hello!

I love the whole idea of throwing a fake wedding for real brides! It’s spectacular. It seem me and my friend, Vicki, would, at some point, turn into a fake planning session for a such plunge and host our first unWedding event. During our (real) brainstorming sessions, we rea time narrowing down our ideas into a single event concept, so we decided to pass the deci lected a number of style boards, uploaded them to our blog, and asked our readers to vote a number of days, and then the garden style board pulled ahead at the literal last minute. close second, we opted to let vintage styling influence our garden wedding. Next, we collec boards and put them up for voting. Not surprising, the colors of nudes, blushes and peach set: a vintage inspired garden affair in shades of peach, blush and nude tones. To say we understatement!

Many late, late (ahem, late) nights were spent pouring over fabulous weddings that have ins gorgeous blogs searching for bits of pretty things to get our creative juices flowing. Many were had in those witching hours. We discovered many silly things about each other that I’ regular daytime coverstation.

When we first let the cat out of the bag; unveiling our plan to our fabulous vendor friends, a look of “now what exactly are you thinking?!” They know us too well. Our team of vendor sible. They were gracious enough to combine their talents and finely honed skills with each compliments, and sincere thank you, go out to every single one of them. Our photographers true. It has been downright delightful experience to comb over the 4000 plus photographs same event through 5 different sets of eyes is truly fascinating.

I have hand picked each photo in this magazine and hope that I have chosen well; that the overflows these pages to lift and inspire you. (You’ll find our vendors credited throughout w at the back.) Please enjoy this lovely collection of photos from our first annual vintage gar

behind the scenes

You’ll see that the ring bearer is the most adorable little man that has ever lived. Granted, I am biased and particularly fond of him; he is my big-hearted, high-spirited 5 year old. (His laugh can be heard all the way from page 59.) The stories surrounding our models were many. My favorite, though, is finding groomsman #4. Vicki, my aforementioned dear friend and partner in creativity, was on an evening grocery shopping trip to the local market and happened to strike up a conversation with a young man shopping alone in the freezer aisle. (Can you hear the Hollywood music starting up in the background? Sort of. He is in college. She, a stylish grandma.) They chatted for a spell, then parted ways; only to bump into each other again a few aisle’s later. After she walked away from him the first time, Vicki thought, “He would have been a perfect groomsman!” So as to not let regret have its way the second time, Vicki quickly asked, “Are you single?” To which he replied, “Yes, do you have a daughter?!” As she explained our plight and how he would be perfect for the role, he graciously accepted. (See his charming self on page 56.) He later admitted that he was actually looking forward to the event; even more so when he learned that he got to spend a day getting pampered by Serendipity Salon and Glo Mobile Tanning. Our unwedding couple were certainly the couple of the hour. They are two of the most delightful people I have had the pleasure of meeting. I dare say that I’ve never seen a boy so fond of his girl than Stewart is of Caroline. The smile in his eyes never waned. It was clear that she makes his world go ‘round. Caroline is as sweet as sugar and equally fond of Stewart.

...............

The “first look is always something special. Even with our unwedding couple, it was no exception. The nervousness while getting dressed; the anticipating groom; the smiling bride sneaking up behind him and finally, him turning to see her. In real life, our couple is getting married later this year. It was such a treat to catch a glimpse of their affection for one another. It was equally fun for them to have a dress rehearsal of their wedding from start to finish. photographs this page and next by Aya Photography ...............
