September... then a shred of October, and the season is over. This is the best time for “islanders”, who can finally catch their breath after the summer peak in August that sees everyone rushed off their feet. Tourists can also enjoy the excellent facilities without the chaos of August. What’s more beautiful than September in Ibiza or Formentera?

This month on the cover we have a familiar face: for the first time an artist returns on an N&D cover (although the first time it was on the Winter Edition released in Miami).

This artist is admired and respected by everyone: Richie Hatwin, who balances the second season of ENTER., with the introduction of Hito, a Japanese DJ from his team.

On the cover of Formentera we have two old friends of our magazine: Rocco Siffredi & Nacho Vidal. We also have other interesting guests that you can discover by browsing through our magazine.

We close this editorial by remembering a friend who has disappeared leaving a great void in the lives of those who knew him. One of us... ciao Daniele!

Septiembre... luego una pizca de octubre y la temporada habrá terminado. Este es el mejor momento para «la gente de la isla», que finalmente puede recuperar el aliento después del pico de verano en agosto, cuando ve cómo le afectan en todas sus actividades. En este mes, los turistas pueden disfrutar de las excelentes instalaciones turísticas de las islas sin que estén todas llenas como en agosto. ¿Qué hay de más bonito que septiembre en Ibiza o Formentera?

Este mes, en la portada, tenemos un gran retorno: por primera vez un artista aparece de nuevo en una edición de N&D (aunque la primera fue en la Winter Edition, distribuida en Miami). Se trata de un artista admirado y respetado por todo el mundo: Richie Hatwin, que hace balance de la segunda temporada de su espectáculo, ENTER, y nos presenta a Hito, DJ japonesa de su equipo.

La portada de Formentera cuenta con dos viejos amigos de nuestra revista: Rocco Siffredi y Nacho Vidal. También tenemos a otros invitados interesantes que podéis descubrir hojeando nuestra revista.

Hawtin actúa cada semana, acompañado de artistas M-NUS, amigos y colaboradores.

Una vez más, ENTER. repite el concepto de intercambio innovador introducido en 2012. Sven Väth y Luciano volverán a ENTER. el 22 de agosto y 5 de septiembre respectivamente.

Basándose en el éxito del concepto de intercambio, ENTER. puede revelar también dos nuevos pases para esta temporada: Loco Dice (11 de julio y 19 de septiembre) y el creador de Paradise, Jamie Jones (8 de agosto). Durante estas 13 semanas también habrá actuaciones en directo de Gaiser, Matador, Audión y Julian Jeweil, cinco actuaciones programadas del residente de ENTER., Paco Osuna, y las apariciones en escena de Dubfire, Marcel Dettmann y Ben Klock (B2B exclusivo), Ambivalent, Christian Smith, Victor Calderone, Hobo y Hector.

Este año ENTER. ha asumido el control de la terraza de Space Ibiza para dar la bienvenida a Maya Jane Coles y Nina Kraviz como nuevos residentes. Dos de los huéspedes más populares del año pasado vuelven a ENTER. con seis fechas programadas esta temporada, incluyendo una exclusiva e íntima actuación en ENTER. Sake.

Las puertas se abrirán a las 9: 30 pm, de modo que ENTER.Sake vuelve a ser el lugar donde se celebra la pre-party oficial, donde los cabeza de cartel realizará un early show exclusivo junto a los residentes DJ Hito y Bella Sarris. Este año, a los residentes se les unirá durante 13 semanas una impresionante selección de artistas como Richie Hawtin, Disclosure, Luciano, Maya Jane Coles, Dubfire, Nina Kraviz, Paco Osuna y Marcel Dettmann. ENTER.Sake ofrece una oportunidad muy rara en Ibiza para ver a artistas consagrados en un ambiente pequeño, algo verdaderamente único que solo podrás encontrar en ENTER..

Once again, ENTER. repeats the ground-breaking swap concept introduced in 2012.

Sven Väth and Luciano will return to ENTER. on August 22 and September 05 respectively.

Building on the success of the swap concept, ENTER. can also reveal two new swaps for this season - Loco Dice (July 11 and September 19) and Paradise creator Jamie Jones (August 08). Across the 13 weeks, guests will also be treated to live performances from Gaiser, Matador, Audion and Julian Jeweil , five scheduled performances from ENTER. resident Paco Osuna plus appearances from Dubfire, Marcel Dettmann and Ben Klock (exclusive B2B), Ambivalent, Christian Smith,

Victor Calderone, Hobo and Hector.

This year ENTER. has taken over the Space Terrace, and welcomes Maya Jane Coles and Nina Kraviz as the new residents. Two of last year’s most popular guests return to ENTER. with six dates each across the season, including one exclusive intimate performance each at ENTER.Sake.

The great protagonist of this season is ENTER.Sake, which takes the next step, moving to its new home on the much-loved Sunset Terrace at Space. Opening at the earlier time of 9.30pm, ENTER.Sake will once again be the location of the official pre-party, where headlining guests will perform an exclusive early show alongside resident DJs Hito and Bella Sarris. This year the residents will be joined across the 13 weeks by an impressive selection of artists, including Richie Hawtin, Disclosure, Luciano, Maya Jane Coles, Dubfire, Nina Kraviz, Paco Osuna, and Marcel Dettmann. Soy de la ciudad de Himeji, Japón, pero desde 1999 vivo en Berlín.

Háblanos de tu relación con Ibiza.

Mi relación con Ibiza es muy buena.

Me gusta la naturaleza y realmente disfruto de cada elemento de la isla, especialmente de Es Vedrà. ¡Yo la llamo «mi novio»! ¿Recuerdas la primera vez que pinchaste en la isla?

Sí, lo recuerdo muy bien. Estaba insegura y nerviosa. Ahora lo veo como un buen recuerdo.

Eres DJ residente en ENTER.Sake una vez más este verano. ¿Qué se siente al ser parte del proyecto ENTER.?

Mi papel en ENTER. es estar en ENTER.Sake. Ya me siento ENTER.Sake, es mi casa. Soy la representante de Japón.

Quiero mantener la buena energía y las buenas vibraciones en el ENTER.Sake.

Por supuesto, ¡”ENTER.SOKU” (sake de Fujiokashuzo) es increíble!

Este año, la decoración de ENTER. Sake y el ambiente son muy diferentes al año pasado.

Te sientes de verdad como si estuvieras en una casa japonesa.

Este verano ha sido lanzado el CD ENTER.Ibiza. ¿Puede decirnos algo más sobre tu remezcla y qué representa?

Sí, fue un trabajo muy bonito y difícil a la vez producir el CD ENTER....

La primera pista es de Mimicof (Midori Hirano), una productora japonesa.

Esto es para representar la entrada de ENTER.Sake, misteriosa y sutil.

La segunda canción es de Lambent, un compositor japonés que hacía esculturas, así que su

HITO sonido va un poco sobre tallar y sobre arte.

Luego pasamos al sonido más groovy de Luciano & Guy Gerber, Lars Wickinger, Martin Buttrich, Barem, Gregor Tresher y más... todas pistas de grandes artistas, nuevos, clásicos, minimal, deep.

La última pista es «Utsuho», de Kazuya Nagaya; después de 60 minutos de recorrido se llega de nuevo a uno mismo.

Expreso el principio hasta el final como un círculo. Esta es la inspiración de ENTER.Sake de Hito. ¿Cuál es la pista que resume ENTER. Sake en lo que va de verano?

I’m from Himeji-city, Japan, but since 1999 I’ve been living in Berlin.

Tell us about your relationship with Ibiza.

My relationship with Ibiza is very good.

I like nature and really enjoy every element of the Island, especially Es Vedrà. I call it “my boyfriend”!

Do you remember the first time you played on the island?

Yes, I remember it very well. I was unsure and nervous. It is a good memory now.

You are resident DJ at ENTER.Sake once again this summer. How does it feel to be part of the ENTER. project?

My role at ENTER. is for me to be ENTER.Sake. I feel already that ENTER.Sake is my home.

I am the representative of Japan.

So I would keep good energy and vibes in the ENTER.Sake.

Of course, “ENTER.SOKU” (sake from Fujioka-shuzo) is amazing!

This year, the ENTER. Sake decoration and atmosphere is so different to last year.

You really feel like you are in a Japanese home.

The ENTER.Ibiza CD was released this Summer. Can you tell us more about your mix and what the mix represents (how it links with ENTER.Sake)?

Yes, it was very hard and pleasant job for me to produce the ENTER. CD...

The first track is from Mimicof (Midori Hirano), a female Japanese producer. This is to represent the entrance of ENTER.Sake, which is mysterious and subtle.

The second song is from Lambent,

a Japanese composer who used to be a sculptor, so his sound recalls carving and art.

Then it moves into more of a groovy sound by Luciano & Guy Gerber, Lars Wickinger, Martin Buttrich, Barem, Gregor Tresher and more...

El chef del que nació la idea de crear la cadena de restaurantes Piccola Cucina se llama Philip Guardione y es de Catania. Yo soy de Conversano, un pequeño pueblo en la provincia de Bari. ¿Cómo surgió la idea de Piccola Cucina?

Philip Guardione, después de haber estado en el Four Seasons en Milán, se dio cuenta en 2009 de que Nueva York, a pesar de todo, era barato y no había demasiados restaurantes italianos de nivel.

Una vez identificado un lugar adecuado, se decidió a iniciar esta aventura. ¿Por qué este nombre?

Como dije, el primer local de la cadena se abrió en Nueva York, en Prince Street, en el corazón de Soho, un área con una gran demanda, donde el local era de tamaño reducido. De ahí el nombre de «Piccola Cucina» (cocina pequeña). ¿Por qué la decisión de abrir en Ibiza?

Nunca fui famosa por tener la boca cerrada a la hora de decir lo que pienso realmente. ¡Lo que intentaré es no mencionar nombres, lo mínimo que pueda!

Un tema que me pone los pelos de punta es el dichoso y maldito botón Sync.

Este botón ha conseguido que gente sin talento por la música y sin ninguna cultura musical consiga la fama de DJ super top. Este botón hace que ahora cualquier persona tenga, como vosotros, queridos lectores y como yo, vuestra humilde servidora, la posibilidad de mezclar dos pistas a tiempo y ajustar la velocidad sin tener la menor idea de cómo se hace utilizando el pitch.

Lo siento, pero he tenido tantos que no puedo hacer una clasificación.

En general, es fantástico cuando tu música llega al público. Es un gran regalo.

Tu club favorito en el mundo.

Es difícil decirlo, además de mi club EGO en Hamburgo también está Warung Beach Club en Brasil, Showcase en París, Studio 80 en Ámsterdam, Watergate Club en Berlín y en Ibiza, por supuesto, mis dos residencias, Pacha y Sankeys.

Tu lugar favorito en Ibiza.

El supermercado hipercentro entre Ibiza y San Rafael. No importa lo que busques, ahí lo encontrarás. ¿Cuáles son tus planes para el verano?

You’re a celebrated DJ and producer and have played in the best clubs and festivals worldwide. What has been the best moment of your career so far?

I’m sorry but there have been so many that I cannot rank those moments. Generally speaking, it’s a great feeling when you feel that you reach people with your sound. That’s simply a gift.

Your favourite club in the world.

Hard to say, besides my own club EGO in Hamburg there is also Warung Beach Club in Brazil, Showcase in Paris, Studio 80 in Amsterdam, Watergate Club in Berlin and on Ibiza for sure my two residencies Pacha and Sankeys.

Besides my heavy tour schedule, to find time to relax on the beach.

Actually a remix for the UK Band Foals is out and the name is: “Late Night” – Foals – Solomun Remix, and I’ve done a remix for Gui Boratto’s project Elekfantz – the track is called “Diggin on you”. Also, in autumn new tracks I’ve recorded with the amazing Roisin Murphy will appear.

Amigos, música, moda, especialmente por la moda, porque próximamente tendré mi marca en Queens of Joy y otras tiendas de Ibiza. ¿A qué te dedicas?

Soy diseñadora de bañadores, tengo mi propia marca, Live & Love Swimwear, y también realizo trajes para clientes privados y hago asesorías personalizadas. Durante la mayor parte del tiempo me dedico al diseño de moda, pero también a

viajar. Mi trabajo es parte de mi vida.

Cuéntanos cómo nació tu pasión por la moda.

La pasión por la moda es algo que llevo en la sangre, pero creo que mi primer recuerdo importante es de cuando tenía cinco años y mi madre me regaló mi primera máquina de coser. ¿Cómo definirías tu marca en tres palabras?

Original, versátil, sport/chic. ¿En qué te inspiras para tus creaciones?

La inspiración para mis creaciones la obtengo de mis viajes, o el punto de partida de la colección, y después la mezclo con otros elementos de referencia: arte, interiorismo, celebrities o un período histórico en especial. ¿Qué estás realizando actualmente para N&D? Estoy realizando una colaboración de diseño de una línea de baño para N&D, muy interesante y, además, guapísima, una gran sorpresa para Ibiza. ¿Planes para el año que viene?

Dentro de mis planes está el desarrollo de mi segunda colección, además de la consolidación y expasión a nivel comercial de mi marca. Me gustaría poder trabajar para otras firmas, con Miami e Ibiza siempre dentro de los planes. ________ Name.

What do you do?

I am a swimwear designer. I have my own brand Live & Love Swimwear and also do costumes for private clients and personalized consultancies. I dedicate most of my time to fashion design but I also travel a lot. My work is part of my life.

Tell us how your passion for fashion started.

The passion for fashion is in my blood but I think my biggest memory is when I was 5 years old and my mother gave me my first sewing machine.

How would you define your brand in 3 words?

Original, versatile, casual/chic.

Where do you draw inspiration for your creations?

The inspiration for my creations comes from my trips or the starting point of the collection, then I mix it with other references: art, interior design, celebrities or a particular historical period.

What are you currently doing for N&D? I’m doing a collaboration designing a swimwear line for N&D. It’s very interesting and really beautiful – Ibiza has a big surprise in store.

Any plans for next year?

I want to develop the second collection in addition to consolidating and expanding my brand commercially. I’d like to work for other firms, with Miami and Ibiza always in my plans.

La primera vez que vine fue en 1989 con mis amigos. Yo tenía 16 años, éramos todos chicos. Fuimos a Amnesia y bailamos toda la noche, yo no quería volver a casa. He vuelto todos los años desde entonces.

Me enamoré de la isla. Es casi un segundo hogar para mí. ¿Recuerdas la primera vez que pinchaste en la isla?

Fue en 2001 en la sala Funky de Pacha. Llegué y vi a toda la gente, fue muy motivador.

Tu fiesta Toolroom Knights en Eden es una de las más populares en San Antonio. Describe en tres palabras tu fiesta.

Un montón de diversión. ¡Este año es nuestro 10.º aniversario! ¿Cuál ha sido el mejor momento de la temporada hasta ahora?

Cada semana va a mejor para mí. Sólo tuvimos cuatro días para promocionar la fiesta, así que las dos primeras semanas fueron duras.

En Eden es más desafiante y más gratificante ver cómo va creciendo la fiesta. Cada semana es una sorpresa para mí.

Tus planes para el invierno.

Después de la locura del verano volveré al estudio. Tengo un montón de pistas, voy a intentar terminar mi álbum. Aunque en noviembre y diciembre es verano en el hemisferio Sur, por lo que nunca paro. Por supuesto iré a la ADE, Miami, y a muchos más acontecimientos

Where are you from?

I’m from a place called Maidstone, in England.

The first time I came was in 1989 with my friends. I was 16, I came with all the boys. We went to Amnesia and danced all night. I didn’t want to go home and I’ve been back every year ever since. I fell in love with the island.

It’s pretty much a second home to me.

Do you remember the first time you played on the island?

It was in 2001, I played at the Funky room at Pacha. I came over and saw all the people – it was really motivating.

Your party Toolroom Knights at Eden is one of the most popular in San Antonio.

Describe it in three words.

A lot of fun. This year is our 10th anniversary!

What has been the best moment of this season so far?

Every week it’s got better for me.

We only had 4 days to promote the party, so the first couple of weeks were tough. At Eden it’s more of a challenge, and it’s more rewarding to

Plans for the winter?

After the madness of the summer, I’m planning to come back to the studio.

big events. It never ends!

Always Neverdogs In this issue of N&D, we would like to say a few words about some news concerning Neverdogs, two artists who have been part of the magic of this island so desired by lovers of the nightlife, and not just your regular night out.

We start by talking about their residence at Marco Carola’s party at Amnesia on Friday, which includes top name DJs from the techno scene. You can hear their music in the main room on September 13th with Joseph Capriati.

After spending the winter and the summer traveling throughout important clubs and private events in the electronic music scene in Europe, Africa, Asia and America, Neverdogs keep on going and start a new journey into the world of the music industry.

From this September onwards, new projects in vinyl and digital will come out: “Dauphiness World” on V.A. by Nitegrooves while DJ Dep, Hummor Neverdogs Ninja remix will be released on Black Flag Records by Stacey Pullen.

Talking about releases, you can listen to “Seven Days” on Oblack Records, “Too Far Away” Decay Records and Nucleus on IUM, three EPs including remixes by artists such as XPress2, Psykoloco and Julien Sandre.

Next winter 2014 they will present their label, which will be called Artists and Crew. The name says it all – just the artists and the whole fascinating world around them with deep, techno and house sounds. Fortyseven will also collaborate in the studio.

Vine a hacer una temporada, escapando de una relación un poco traumática y aquí me quedé.

Una de las mejores decisiones que he tomado en mi vida. ¿Cómo llegaste a la música?

Siempre ha estado muy presente en mi vida. Desde muy jovencita he sido muy selectiva con lo que se escuchaba en mi radio-cassette. ¡Me hacía mis propias sesiones en cintas!

Tu estilo en tres palabras.

Me sobra una....

House Underground.

Un artista con quien te encantaría hacer un b2b. ¿Puedo decir tres? Mis supremos favoritos: Claude Vonstroke, Kabale und Liebe, y Jamie Jones.

Aunque en este momento, el b2b con Jamie Jones. ¿Cuáles son tus sitios favoritos en Ibiza?

Me encanta la sala Basement de Sankeys. Sonido y acústica increíbles, line up buenísimo y, aún estando lleno, encuentras tu sitio para bailar y respirar, que es importantísimo.

Ibiza es underground, turismo de masas y VIP. ¿Quién saldrá ganando?

Creo que siempre estarán las dos

I love the Basement room at Sankeys.

Amazing sound and acoustics, great line up and even when it’s full you can still find room to dance and breathe, which is very important.

Ibiza is underground, mass tourism and VIP. Who will win?

I think the two trends will stick around, thankfully, so audiences seeking different things will not mix together...

Propietario de Discos Delta Ibiza. ¿Cómo nació la idea de Discos Delta y cómo ha evolucionado en los años?

Pues Discos Delta nació en 1967.

Inicialmente era de tres socios, pero al año mi padre, Vicente Tur, les compró su parte del negocio.

Empezamos vendiendo cartuchos y vinilos en los 60 y 70. Vendíamos vinilos a todas las discotecas de Ibiza y, posteriormente, CD. Antes eran los clubs los que compraban toda la música. ¿Qué pueden encontrar tus clientes en Discos Delta?

Desde hace tres años dejamos de vender música, lamentablemente.

La piratería ha matado la venta de CD. Este año he empezado junto a mi socio Pedro Martinez un nuevo proyecto de sneakers. Vendemos series limitadas de todas las marcas: Nike, Adidas, Reebok, Converse, etc.

Por tu tienda han pasado muchos personajes famosos, ¿puedes nombrarnos algunos?

Buff, no hay bastante revista para nombrarlos a todos.

Prácticamente todos los DJ han pasado por la tienda. Roger Sanchez, Tiesto, Guetta, Tenaglia, Pete Tong, Deep Dish, David Morales, Dave Seaman, etc., etc.,

etc. Pero los más importantes son los residentes Willy Graff, Cesar de Melero, Oriol Calvo, Dj Oliver, Angel Linde, Reche, Alfredo, Jose Padilla etc. Sin estos DJ residentes no existiría nada de lo que hay ahora en Ibiza.

Además de Discos Delta, ¿cuáles son tus tiendas de referencia en Ibiza?

Creo que soy el único tonto que aún compra discos. Los compro en Discos M-15, la única tienda que aún sigue abierta. ¿Qué opinas de N&D Magazine?

How did the idea of Discos ​​ Delta come out and how has it evolved over the years?

Well, Discos Delta was born in 1967. There were 3 partners initially but after a year my father Vicente Tur bought part of the business.

We started selling cartridges and vinyl in the 60s and 70s. We used to sell vinyl to all the clubs in Ibiza, and later CDs. Before that, the clubs bought their own music.

What can your customers find at Discos Delta?

Sadly we stopped selling music three years ago. Piracy has killed the sale of CDs. This year with my partner Pedro Martinez we started selling trainers, limited series of all brands: Nike, Adidas, Reebok, Converse, etc.

Many famous people have passed by your store. Can you name some?

Wow! There’s enough to fill a book! Nearly all DJs have visited the store. Relación con Ibiza.

Venimos aquí desde que Steve Lawler nos trajo a principios de los años 2000. La isla siempre se porta bien con nosotros. ¡Es una relación de amor puro! ¿Dónde y cuándo fue vuestro debut como Audiofly?

Nuestro debut como Audiofly fue en Londres, cuando colaboramos en una remezcla llamada Love Live. Éramos asiduos de ese circuito tan vibrante de Londres desde hacía unos años, hacíamos música y pinchábamos siempre que podíamos. Ahí es donde aprendimos a movernos y de donde viene nuestro sonido.

Por primera vez, habéis traído vuestra gira y concepto de fiesta Flying Circus a Ibiza (los viernes en Sankeys). ¿Cómo describirías vuestra fiesta?

Bueno, normalmente somos un circo nómada, viajamos de un país a otro, recogemos y dejamos amigos de la música en el camino...

Hay un alto nivel de calidad de sonido, momentos musicales bonitos, un verdadero sentido de la familia en los ambientes únicos que creamos. Tenemos una

afinidad especial con las playas, de hecho nuestras fiestas de fin de año en México están ya marcadas en el calendario y en el mapa de un montón de gente. Pero venir aquí, a la isla, y tratar de recrear lo que normalmente hacemos, es imposible. Así que nos centramos en la calidad del sonido y el espíritu de la fiesta, el increíble sentido de compartir entre los artistas, la gente y el propio espacio, Sankeys, ¡que es un gran club! Es un club de verdad, muy enfocado en haceros sumergir en una experiencia musical. ¿Cómo definirías al público en Ibiza?

Nuestro público es una gran mezcla de los isleños, la familia global de

FC que ha estado siguiendo las fiestas desde hace algún tiempo y los turistas más interesados en la música. Sankeys suele ser muy británico, pero nuestras fiestas son muy equilibradas. Un montón de chicas y chicos guapos y al final de la noche nunca termina siendo lleno de sólo «tíos» (risas).

La fiesta más loca en la que has pinchado en Ibiza.

Hay muchos afters locos en lugares realmente increíbles.

Algunos organizados, algunos espontáneos. Deberían quedar en el anonimato, por supuesto... ¡pero en uno de esos!

Planes para el futuro.

Sobrevivir a la temporada, escribir un montón de música y perseguir el sol este invierno.

We’ve been coming here since Steve Lawler brought us out here back in the early 2000’s. The island is always good to us. It’s a pure love relationship!

Where and when was your debut as Audiofly?

Our first debut as Audiofly happened in London as a

collaboration on a remix called Live Love. We were regulars on the very vibrant London circuit for a few years, making music and playing wherever we could. That’s where we learned our trade and where the sound came from.

For the first time you have brought your touring party concept Flying Circus to Ibiza (Fridays at Sankeys). How would you describe your party?

Well, we are normally a nomadic circus, travelling from country to country, picking up and dropping off musical friends along the way...

High level sound quality, beautiful music moments, a real sense of family in the bespoke environments that we create. We have a special affinity with beaches – in fact our New Year’s Eve Beach Parties in Mexico are now a solid fixture on the calendar and map for a lot of people. But coming here to the island, and trying to recreate what we normally do, is impossible. So we focused on sound quality, and the spirit of the party, the amazing sense of sharing between the artists and the crowd and the space itself -Sankeys- what a great club! It’s a real club, really focused on submerging you in a musical experience.

How would you define the audience in Ibiza?

Our audience is a great mix of the real islanders, the global FC family who have been following the parties around for some time and the most music oriented of the holidaymakers. Sankeys is usually pretty UK, but our events are really balanced. Lots of good looking girls and guys. And it never ends up being full of just “blokes” at the

end of the night LOL! The craziest party where you’ve played in Ibiza.

There are so many crazy after-parties in really amazing locations. Some organised, some spontaneous. They should remain anonymous, obviously... But one of those!

Future plans.

Survive the season, write a lot of music, and chase the sun this winter.

ANUNCIA MÁS ACTUACIONES EN SU GIRA EUROPEA ANNOUNCES A FURTHER SERIES OF CLUB TOUR EVENTS AROUND EUROPE

El festival internacional de música electrónica Movement ha anunciado nuevas fechas en su gira por toda Europa hasta llegar a la principal fiesta anual en Turín, que empieza el 24 de octubre.

Después de las fiestas en DC10 Ibiza el mes pasado, la gira del club Movement empieza con fiestas semanales en clubes alrededor de Turín (incluyendo Audiodrome y Silverado Club) y pincharán DJ como Marc Antona, Paco Osuna y Chris Liebing, John Digweed, Francois K y Guy Gerber. El festival empieza el 1 de septiembre y durará hasta octubre. Su misión es sencilla: ofrecer a los clubbers un repertorio excelente en lugares que se centran en la música y permiten un contacto íntimo con el artista.

After the parties at DC10 Ibiza last month, the Movement club tour starts proper with weekly parties in clubs around Torino (including Audiodrome and Silverado Club) and DJs like Marc Antona, Paco Osuna & Chris Liebing, John Digweed, Francois K and Guy Gerber will all be playing. They start on September 1, and run through October, and the mission is simple - to give clubbers an outstanding line-up in locations focused on music and that offer intimate contact with the artist.

I’m sure we’ll celebrate with friends, family, management and fans, we’d be very proud if we won.

What has been your most memorable gig so far this year?

We are actually this month celebrating 300 Episodes of our Future Sound of Egypt Radio Show with 5 Events worldwide, and we would have to say the most memorable gig so far this year was last night at FSOE 300 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Out of all the tunes you have, which one “never fails”?

The DJ Awards have some special awards not voted for by the public – one of which is “Track of the Season” what is your prediction for the track that will blast the dancefloors?

Where are you from?

Planet earth, I think. Both my passports say - Paris, France.

First time in Ibiza?

In 1986 - I was very young and on holiday with a friend and his family.

But returning in ‘88 and ‘89, still very young but this time just with friends, kids from the international crowd that came here in the 60’s, I got to know Ibiza. Experiencing both hill top parties and Ibiza clubs, in its acid house/Balearic (re) discovery days.

Your projects this summer in Ibiza?

Having Ibiza as my home base it’s

all too easy to get tangled up in the summer madness, so aside from Never Say Never at Ushuaia Tower all summer, a party I helped Sasha conceive some years back, I am quite emerged in productions, getting to know the studio I am currently working in, learning as many production techniques as possible, especially from the genius Grayson Shipley. And I am recording vocals with Marianna Nasa, a very talented singer.

What about Brazil? Please tell us about your residency at Warung Club? Best club in the world? D-Edge?

My residency at Warung is somewhat unofficial but I am the only nonBrazilian who gets to play 7-hour sets there 2-3 times a year - which of course I love. There is something about that club that is so unique.

D-Edge is also super cool, an amazing space and concept with similarly diverse and high quality lineups, but Sao Paulo is a tough city, Warungs beach vibe is my Ibiza away from Ibiza.

What do you think about N&D Magazine?

Tu primera vez en Ibiza.

En 1986. Era muy joven, vine de vacaciones con un amigo y su familia.

Pero conocí Ibiza cuando volví en el 88 y 89, cuando aún era también muy joven, pero esta vez vine con amigos, chicos de la multitud internacional que llegó aquí en los años 60. Viví las fiestas en las colinas y en los mejores clubes de Ibiza, en sus días de (re)descubrimiento del acid house/Balearic.

Tus proyectos de este verano en Ibiza.

Teniendo Ibiza como base, es muy fácil enredarse en la locura del verano así que, aparte de Never Say Never en Ushuaia Tower durante todo el verano –una fiesta que ayudé a Sasha a concebir hace algunos años–, estoy bastante concentrado en llevar a cabo producciones para dar a conocer el estudio en el que estoy trabajando actualmente, y estoy aprendiendo muchas técnicas sobre producción, especialmente del genial Grayson Shipley. Y estoy grabando con la voz de Marianna Nasa, una cantante con mucho talento. ¿Qué nos cuentas sobre Brasil?

Creo que ella se deprime en invierno hasta que empezamos a vernos otra vez en verano, ¡pero me encanta cada segundo que estamos juntos! ¿Recuerdas la primera vez que pinchaste en la isla?

Fue en Kehakuma, Space, yo estaba muy emocionado y ¡me encantó cada minuto! ¿Dónde pincharás este mes? ¿Has planeado ya tus actuaciones?

Tocaré en Sankeys con los Viva Warriors el 1 de septiembre, dos semanas más tarde en Ushuaia Tower y luego, unos días más tarde, en Booom con el Circus.

Nunca podría planear mis actuaciones muy por adelantado.

Do you remember the first time you played on the island?

That was at Space Kehakuma, I was really excited and loved every minute of it!

Where are you playing this month? Have you already planned your set?

I’m playing at Sankeys with the Viva Warriors on 1st September, two weeks later at Ushuaia Tower and then a few days later at Booom with the Circus. I can never plan my sets so far in advance. I always have a selection of songs with me, but I never know what I’ll focus on or what I’ll play until I enter the location and feel the vibe of the people and the party.

Your favourite club in the world.

Watergate, Berlin.

Your favourite spot in Ibiza.

The whole island is my favourite spot! It really depends on my mood, the people, the setting, everything. It is truly a wonderful place to be!

What do you think of N&D Magazine?

N&D is an important part of the nightlife in Ibiza. Many artists themselves look it up to find out what’s going on during their free days. Ibiza Calling La quinta temporada de Ibiza Calling, que este año ocupará todos los miércoles desde el 19 de junio al 18 de septiembre, va a sufrir una revolución en su concepto musical pero no así en su espíritu. The fifth Ibiza Calling season, which takes place every Wednesday till September 18th, shall undergo a revolution of its musical concept - but not its spirit. Hedonism, fun, colour and freedom of expression are the starting points of the party, as they have been since its beginnings.

Today Giovanni confesses, delving into the most painful chapter of his life, that his detention has taken away his dignity and filled him with an indelible torment, which perhaps time will never truly erase.

In fact, a few years ago, he underwent preliminary investigation for the crime against public health that meant prison as a precautionary measure, based on evidence (or lack of evidence) of the use of wiretapping.

This evidence, ‘only’ after 540 days of life spent behind bars, was deemed invalid according to Spanish courts and a violation of the most basic constitutional principles. Therefore, only 18 months later, Giovanni has taken possession of his now ‘marked’ life.

He tells of the shocking reality of prisons, of corrupt officials who authorise internal trafficking of drugs and mobile phones with money exchanges.

He explains the treatment that the guards dish out to the weakest prisoners, the harassment, the beatings, and the physical violence for releasing information about these offences committed by their colleagues.

Night or medical assistance was almost non-existent, and the guards contributed through negligence and carelessness in exposing many inmates to methadone, and abandoned to fend for themselves to the point where they started slitting their own wrists just to end up in the infirmary and receive their treatment.

La comida siempre se servía en cantidades insignificantes, también era de muy mala calidad, a veces casi incomible, así que sólo el preso que tenía poder adquisitivo podía comprar ​​los alimentos que se vendían en la tienda, ya que no había posibilidad de cocinar por sí mismos en la celda, ni de aprovechar los alimentos que les traían los familiares.

Cuenta que vio con sus propios ojos un prisionero muerto por causa de una sobredosis, y a otro interno que fue brutalmente golpeado por cinco funcionarios de la prisión, simplemente porque esa misma mañana del 25 de diciembre no había sido rápido a la hora de levantarse de la cama.

Le pido que me diga algo sobre él, y me habla sobre un incidente durante un partido de fútbol, en el cual, por desgracia, se fracturó la pierna derecha. Él dice que fue a la enfermería, pero el médico se negó a hacerle cualquier prueba, se limitó a darle la baja sin asistencia, diagnóstico o tratamiento ninguno.

Al día siguiente volvió a la enfermería quejándose del dolor porque se volvió insoportable, y le fue diagnosticada una fractura en la pierna, se la escayolaron y le prescribieron cuarenta días de reposo.

Continúa diciendo que unos días después, cuando trataba de subir con muletas al tercer piso para desayunar, se dejó algunas migas en el suelo debido a la dificultad que tenía para caminar.

Esto le conllevó la prohibición de la hora al aire libre durante unos quince días porque le habían dicho que, a pesar de la pierna derecha escayolada, podría utilizar la izquierda para limpiar.
