Susan is a contemporary landscape painter, based in the North Yorkshire Dales. She completed a Foundation course in Art & Design, at York College of Art in 1987, and a BA (Hons) Fine Art in Manchester, 1988-91. Shortlisted for the Whitworth Young Contemporaries as a student, she experimented with conceptual art before returning to full time painting on returning to North Yorkshire. Significant solo exhibitions including "On the Horizon, Out of Reach" at The Bowes Museum, "If I have left, I Remain in the Country" The National Trust's Nunnington Hall and "Maybe You Have Been Here" at Brantwood, the home of John Ruskin in Coniston, The Lake District. Susan exhibited in the Lynn Painter-Stainer 2013 Prize Exhibition in the Mall Galleries, London and has shown paintings in many northern galleries and museums.
