With light, bright and airy spaces our rooms can be transformed into any colour scheme, theme or vision, allowing couples to make their dreams a reality. Located on the banks of the River Wear and only minutes from Roker Park, Roker Pier and golden sandy beaches, National Glass Centre provides the perfect setting to capture your special day. Licensed for civil ceremonies, we can play host to wedding breakfasts, receptions and evening celebrations for between 10 and 200 guests.
Working with you hand in hand We have a fantastic range of options to ensure there’s something to suit all tastes and budgets and we can even create a wedding package especially to meet your individual needs. Our spacious modern rooms provide the perfect setting for your wedding day, with floor to ceiling windows offering stunning views over the River Wear. Our gallery spaces and glass roof provide a unique setting for wedding photographs, capturing wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. Here at National Glass Centre we understand that your wedding is one of the most important days of your life. Our Wedding packages We have two fully inclusive daytime/evening packages, Cut Crystal and Glass Slipper, as well as our Twinkling Twilight evening only package.

Wedding Checklist We thought we’d put together a checklist to try and help you out a little, we know there’s a lot to organise! Please just take this as rough guidance, every wedding is unique to each couple!
12 Months + • Set the date, give notice of marriage to Sunderland City Council • Book your registrar/minister or church • Book National Glass Centre as your perfect venue! • Send save-the-date cards • Set your budget • Draw up your guest list(s) • Appoint bridesmaids, best man and ushers • Book your photographer and videographer • Book a band/entertainers (our DJ is included in your package!) • Book your cars and florist • Buy/order your wedding dress/outfit
6 Months + • Order/make your wedding invitations • Order the wedding cake • Buy your wedding shoes and accessories • Book your make up artist and hairdresser • Buy your bridesmaid’s dresses and suits for the groom, best man, ushers and any flower girls or page boys.
3 Months + • Buy your wedding rings • Send your wedding invitations • Choose your table decorations and chair covers with National Glass Centre (these are included in your day package!) • Choose wedding music and readings • Book your complementary pre wedding celebration afternoon tea for 6 people at National Glass Centre!
1 Month before • Arrange for a final fitting of your wedding dress • Meet with our wedding coordinator to confirm final details for your big day. • Finalise the seating plan • Write the wedding speeches • Find your ‘something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue’
1 Week before • Have the wedding rehearsal • Wear-in your wedding shoes! • Treat yourself to beauty treatments and have a pamper day • Meet with your wedding coordinator to finalise details of your big day

Finishing Touches National Glass Centre’s Shop stocks a range of beautiful items for the home and is a unique place to arrange your gift list or your guests can purchase gift vouchers. Our shop would also be delighted to source beautiful favours for your guests. Our Hot Glass Studio team are able to advise you or your guests how to commission a beautiful, bespoke piece of glass as a stunning reminder of your day. We can also arrange bespoke glass blowing demonstrations on your big day, or your guests could try their hand at making their own glass heart, bauble or paperweight.
