Education for sustainable development has been on the agenda of the Nordic Network for Adult Learning (NVL) since 2006. A series of seminars have combined educational inputs, practical examples and interactive dialogue. As a follow-up, a Nordic cross sectoral group discussed the kind of approaches necessary to achieve changes in our mindsets and behavior. The result is the development of a Nordic, cross sectoral further education programme. AIM AND OUTCOME The model emphasises learning geared towards a high level of knowledge combined with practical action. The aim is to build bridges between formal education institutions, local administrations and civil society organisations; assisting those involved in formal and informal learning to gain inspiration from local examples. The target group comprises educators engaged in sustainable development and adult learning.
